@Deleted User you can stick a fork through the foil. No harm.

I generally just unfold and inspect after 30 min.

I have an issue with a the doorway into my basement. First problem is that the bottom of the doorway is a quarter of an inch offset from the top. The second is there is not enough room on one side for the trim and I don't want to trim it to make it fit. Soooo I'm ripping it all out and doing it right. My question is how do I rough out the doorway to the appropriate size and ensure I have room on both sides for the trim? The door I have is 31 5/8" and with sheet rock up I only have a 37 " span. Once the trim is around the frame it's 36 1/2" so my rough out has almost no margin for error.

I guess I should just spend the money foe a prehung door instead of trying to use the salvaged one I have.

@Deleted User could be your alternator starting to fail or a bad fuseable link.

I would say get a voltameter and test your alternator cables both to the starter and battery. If they are good take your alternator to advanced auto parts and have them test it. They may be able to do it with it on the car. Either way it's free. Start with the the obvious and free stuff. Also have them read your codes while you're there.

I've had it happen. Just saying. Either way he needs to get his codes read at the very least. Like you recommended.

you're right about the battery light though so scratch that

@Deleted User go get the damn ecm codes. Now I'm intrigued.

@RevStench it's a 6 panel hollow core.

I was getting ready to run an outlet off this existing outlet. First tree ground wasn't connected and three was a jumper you can see in the pic. It's this normal practice. I've never seen it before.

It's weird because there were 2 ground wires in the box they just weren't connected. Which makes me worry there is a bad ground.

I'm going to buy a cheap circuit tester and do some investigating.

Well all the grounds are good on that circuit. Unless anyone can think of something I should check, I guess I'm going to hook it back up.

So after testing all the outlets on that circuit ( and the rest of the house which is ok), the receptacles on that breaker all have an open ground. Looks like I get to spend some quality time in my attic tomorrow.

@Lebens I'll give this a try tomorrow too

@Lebens i most likely will. I already have the dry wall cut away from running stereo wire and cat5.

Yeah I'm using that on all my receptacles for now on. Very clean.

Just wanted to give a thanks to @Lebens and @Deleted User. I got my issue resolved. It was a ground that had been painted over.

I love that trim. If I could afford it i'd remove all the trim from my house and do Victorian style trim.

So just to add to tools needed for any garage. I think jack, jack stands, drain pan, oil filter wrench, 4 way lug wrench, spark plug sockets... that is a really good start to 90% of what most people will be doing on their car.

@Deleted User yes actually fish antibiotics are the same as the ones they give to mammals. Just make sure you take a high enough dose for long enough. An infection coming back is bad news bears.

need some advice. I have a poured concrete porch and steps. I want to add wooden railing. Would I be better served to set my 4x4 in quickcrete or side mount them with concrete anchors and burying the bottom of the posts.

Any of you guys know what this is. It was wired up to a light receptacle in my basement.

@RevStench more like fixing a poorly remodeled home

I'll be honest I'm struggling to design the porch. It's an awkward split level. If I just put up railing it's going to look hokey. I also need to incorporate a flower bed or retaining wall on both sides. They left us with a slope of large gravel.

I don't have a newer pic but there are not more shrubs. From the drive way there are 3 steps to the first 3x3 landing then turns to house 3 more steps to a 6x6 slab. On the left going up there is a 2 tier flower bed. To the right is the gravel slope.

You can't tell from the pic but the slope on the right erodes onto the steps. I've planted monkey grass which helps

Please excuse my nigger teir landscaping

So I was thinking of doing something similar on the other side but redoing the existing flower beds with 2ร—8 and 4x4 cedar

Epic fail at cultural appropriation

and I know it would increase my cost but I was thinking about using concrete form tube and these post bases to make it easier to replace the posts when needed. Instead of having to dig out the concrete.

@Deleted User do they still teach ABC?

@RevStench i don't mind the questions. I feel guilty for monopolizing the chat.
Yeah, I'm going to do the flower bed on both sides. I'm not sure if I'll have to bust concrete or not. Not 100% sure what's under that flower bed already. That may be the bigger job. Tbh I may reuse the existing bottom rows and just replace the rest of railroad ties with the cedar boards.

It surprisingly is solid

I like that idea

I do need to get some better blades and saws. What i have is only good for rough cuts. I can't even get a decent miter on trim pieces.

I'm probably going to have to spend a couple months accumulating the martial. Getting ready to insulate and frame the basement.

Actually now that you mention it. So I left the header in place for one of the walls and removed the footer (It was dry rot) so I'm replacing it with pressure treated wood. I've got my chalk line. But how do I ensure my footer is square with the header before I anchor it to the floor? I know the correct way is to build the frame on the ground and then lift into place.

Anyone here?

I have a question, when someone sues in a case like the transgenders against trump, how can I find out who is representing them and possibly paying the legal fees.

I'd like to put together a database of these instances.

Have you ever used rundeck or something like docker?

No tbh my main curiosity is what people outside my normal sphere are using and how. I find it useful to see these utilities from a different perspective and how I can go about things differently.

Currently I use mostly php and python w/ sql db. We have a rather large portal web app with redundant servers and sql databases. The portal also uses JavaScript which I haven't delve into yet.
I am developing tools for the web app. I am currently teaching myself node.js in favor of it's multitasking ability and mongodb for its ability to create data structure on the fly. Which will work nicely once I start working on the api.

Yeah what's it called?

thanks I'll check it out

Seriously?

I thought you meant give me the name of the book... not a physical copy

I need to look into managing my own wallet. I was looking to start investing some of what I've been putting in my IRA into crypto.

@CharlesLaurence -CA thanks for the heads up.

Openvpn for a secure connection when connected to public wifi and managing/accessing local network remotely.

Not sure if that's to basic.... trying to think of things that will be useful to a wider audience @Deleted User

@Deleted User that'd be a good tutorial. Setting up a private wallet.

Encrypt it for sure

Mine recently had an attempted login and I hadn't used it in over 6 years. I should probably delete it.

Once my dues are paid how do I access the rest of the server?

I think this is a difficult point to drive home. This isn't a war on Christianity. This is just more violence against whites. It's just being obfuscated by the media.
I mean nibbas aren't going into black churches and shooting people. Dylan Roof aside, but he was honest about his motives.

@koba >buying at $20,000 trying to make a quick buck ๐Ÿคฃ

If anyone is looking for contracting leads...I know a guy looking for someone with node.js/angular experience building gui. I believe some Mongo experience is helpful. DM me if interested. He's looking to fill the position within the week.

Just bought my first masternode I'm pretty excited
