Yes I have. John OK is the only one I've not confirmed to have his gear. I'm trying to get a hold of him but he's not responding.

If it's at all possible, I would rather have Sid OK on my shield team and put @John OK on @Ben MD's team. Sid was at Oklahoma to drill with the new shields and I would have better team cohesion with him and his brother both on my team. Plus John isn't responding to by messages making sure he had the necessary gear so I think he's only going to be a problem for heavy shields.

Ok. You don't have to worry about getting any gear. I've still got an extra chin strap if you ever need one but the leg pads aren't an issue for you anymore. Just focus on training up and having everything ready for when we all head out to the demo in a couple weeks.

Leg/Head Protection, Necessary Gear
Below linked is the standardized leg protection for heavy shieldbearers. It is not required for those on light duty shields.

It will be necessary for those on heavy shields to purchase and prepare their own leg guards. If they have issues with this financially they are to contact their team lead, and that is to be discussed here.

If you are taller than 6ft, you may want to buy the taller guards.

Once you acquire the guards, you must paint them. Steps for doing that are as follows:
- Lightly sand the surface of the pads until it has a matte appearance, and is no longer shiny and sleek.
- Cover all areas of the item but the hard padding with masking tape.
- Spray the pads with two light coats of light tan paint. (Rustoleum brand "Antique White" is Ideal).

Instructions for the chin strap are simple. All on shields are required to have one. Purchase one, and hold onto the extra.
- Very carefully pick a place just in front of the ear on your hat and poke a hole in the fabric just big enough to clip the chinstrap.
- If the hat can be worn comfortably with the mask overtop of the chinstrap, and is more firmly attached to the head, do the same with the bump cap inserted.
- It is best to drill a small hole into the bump cap at the precise location previously used. If you do not have access to a drill, ask your locals.

Report back with any questions, before proceeding with the process. Acquire and prepare these items as soon as you are able.

@ND - Carter MO will be on the ground filming and keeping a lookout for us. He asked me personally if I could rally some AR guys specifically for climbing and placing so your commitment and participation will be imperative. Needless to say. You'll get your wish. As will I.

He said they would've been able to do it themselves but their main climber is going into surgery and won't be able to climb for a while so he'll need our assistance to get this one done.

He's moving to Magnolia AR when he first gets here so we won't be seeing too much of him when he first arrives. But he says he might move further up towards us as time goes on so we can coordinate some actions while he's here. Until then I told him to sticker up as much if south Arkansas as he can manage.

I'll ask him about that next time he responds. He hinted that he was and I'm going to try to hold him to that regardless. But he's got a lot of driving to do to make it happen.

As far as I'm aware everyone in my team has their equipment or is waiting for them to arrive currently. Only @ND - William OK @Bryan OK and I have our shin guards painted. Donald OK and Sid OK are currently waiting for their shin guards to arrive and will have them painted by the demo date. Chin straps are not an issue.

I did not. But I didn't really go around the whole town. Just to the Walmart on the main drag and then the u of a on the way back up.

Then it's up to us to hold him to that. We should get all that settled in the voice meeting tonight.

It's an oversight. You're no longer on a shield team. Although you may be called in as a backup for shields if somebody isn't able to make it.

@Leo AR says he's still in a shield team chat even though he shouldn't be. He's no longer on my team and to my knowledge shouldn't be on anyone else's. Is he on there bc he could become a backup or is it just an oversight?

He still hasn't trained with any shields in the past. Or been at any of the training events in recent months. I removed him from my vanguard team and replaced him with Sid OK. He also hasn't been able to purchase any of the equipment necessary to be a shield team member. But if we're still desperate to fill ranks then I suppose he'd be willing to join someone's team. He'd have to be trained in all the new drilling techniques unless he's put on a screen with the smaller shields. But even then we'd probably have to supply him some shin guards.

You don't have to worry about training with heavy shields as you'll be using the regular round shields instead of the new metal ones. They'll run you through what to do before the demo starts.
