These Rittenhouse chimpouts are a great chance to scout local opposition.
Scouting:
Activists are to wear muted clothing with no identifiable logos for this action. No items for the dress code are to be worn. Make sure these clothes are something you would be comfortable running in. It is recommended that activists bring water and snacks as these are often long events.
Activists are to not engage with protestors, even when approached. If protestors become aggressive, activists are to disengage and leave area. Do you best to record any aggression if it occurs.
Recommended group size is 2-4 activists. Going alone is highly discouraged, as a lone activist can be easily ambushed, as leftists are hostile to cameras and taking videos pictures takes away from situational awareness. Every cameraman should have a watch.
Leftists tend to come in and out of a protest consistently throughout an event, so the watch should keep an eye on all directions. Document activities of those leaving and joining the event, as strange behaviors can be observed and give insight to their actions. One activity noticed that is peculiar is that anarchists walk up to and pull on doors on their way to a protest. Working theory is that anarchists do this to create a mental map of places they can hide or run to if police begin arresting demonstrators or violence occurs.
Primary things you should be documenting: How leftists arrive and their arrival group sizes; Overall numbers of the protesters, who seems to take charge often, which individuals are more prone to violence, and how police respond to protestors actions.
Leftist groups typically organize through “affinity groups” that specialize in specific actions. See if you can identify any affinity groups and their behaviors
Interesting I'll see if we have any of these in STL.
Yo, have you heard from John CO in the past few days?
I haven't
He was supposed to be coming with us, but he’s gone off the radar
That's not like him very strange.
Yeah, I thought the same.
Good luck to you and everyone at the event, I've got a child due this weekend and cannot attend.
Sad to hear you can’t make it, but excited your having a kid. Best of luck man, and congrats!
Yes it really is bumming me out, thanks brother hope everyone is safe.
Worried about John, but not much else. See you next time brother
How’s the kid?
She didn't come on her date unfortunately. The wife will be induced this upcoming Monday unless her water breaks beforehand. Almost glad I didn't see what happened to my bus...
That was your bus? Damn….
Is it salvageable?
Yes I purchased it a month before the event and worked on it religiously costing upwards of $3000. It was abandoned to the police due to the intensity of the damages. Was a gift to the network for all their hard work and then taken from us immediately. The shortest lived investment in my entire life was a physical investment, truly amazing.
Insurance will not cover it unless I chose the $100 / month plan. At that time I wasn't prepared to spend that type of money for a monthly fee.
Damn. I’ll send a little bit of cash your way when I get the chance. It won’t be a fraction, but if enough people give at least you’ll have something.
this whole thing makes me infuriated
If I'm provided with any amount of money then it will be - without a doubt - reinvested into a new NW12 passenger bus. It was taken from me, yes but it was truly a gift to the network and they didn't deserve what happened. It pisses me off greatly as well. Revenge would be nice but the best revenge I think will be our eternal vigilance when a new vehicle has taken her place.
Also status on @John CO
I’ve heard nothing. He’s a ghost.
Worried he got into a bad wreck or something. We would never know
Really hope he returns I've just started a type of "think tank" and he was one of the men picked for it. There is someone in our network who disappeared in the same way with no communication and its been over a month. I keep him hoping he will return. Guess I won't be finding out once he's removed either, organization life is strange sometimes
Yes I'm excited for the influx of members. Hope Missouri gets one, I haven't had a single recruit on this side of the Mississippi in over 4 months
Dang. We have 2 or 3 lined up. We’re going to get a ton of new members, but we need to be extra wary of infiltrators. A lot of Antifa will be emboldened with this success
Very true I hadn't thought of that. Antifa is extremely rare in the STL area and southern IL. We've never had contact with a single one until venturing out of the Mid-West although Kansas City has a chapter and that's a problem for Western Missouri members. Good point
Most Antifa should be fairly easy to weed out. It’s the ngo hired infiltrators that will be high quality
Honestly I hope we start searching bags and doing pat downs at all events. This sounds extreme to some until the day one of us is killed IMO.
Apparently Jason had a gun pulled on him. This was close
Imagine the shockwaves that would have caused.
It would be bigger than any of us could imagine. I would rather not think about it though. Everyone here is like a brother to me
Carter, I'm doing activism posts atm, and if you go on another hike, try and get a picture with all the activists posed together. It's great for our picture posts
This is from the October Midwest hike btw
Yes I had planned for a large group photo at the end of the Mid-West hike but the rain caused so many people to leave that the final photo was reduced to a small handful. Next event group photo will be taken immediately at the start of the event.
There was a photo but it consisted of only about 12 men
That's fair
I've factored this in heavily for the upcoming hike, it really bummed me out.
Seems like the midwest has bad luck with rain and hikes, haha
What state was this in btw
Need to know for the tag
Illinois
Garden of the Gods - Shawnee State Park
Wait, was this the one Ben and I went to
I thought that was earlier tbh
Yes you were there.
Are you maybe looking at the Michigan Hike?
I remember being dog tired the entire hike
There was a group photo taken for that one
This looks like garden of the gods
If it looks like Vietnam then yes
Just didn't think it was October for whatever reasonn
October 21st
Activism does weird things to time
We've finally got our poster game down in CO
Managed to get two cities, 8 posters in 2.5 hours
Only got lost getting back to the car once
Came across some crackheads
The next hike will be an immense improvement. We're going to be in Missouri down in the Ozarks hiking along the current / black rivers. We'll be camping on a sandy "beach head" hidden along one of these rivers. The water comes from springs and is beautiful plus you can swim. It will be just an intense as I'll try and break the record. Believe it or not we broke it with 16 miles completed even though we only finished half of the total planned route. It was to be the ultimate challenge in the subtropics of Southern Illinois, and it was just that. Plan for 20 miles if you attend the next one and excuse the poor scenery - we have no interesting places or mountains readily available. What we DO have though are caves and elegant rivers. I'll play to my strengths from now on.
Interesting, we've yet to paste up a single poster. We're addicted to stenciling it's all we do every weekend. Tying to perfect the PF Salute with our artwork.
Nice
What are you using exactly for those posters? I've seen you in a video slapping some up.
Stenciling is fun, but for whatever reason I just enjoy stenciling a lot more
How can I produce this wheat paste, or is this something I just buy?
You can buy wallpaper glue. There's a pf guide on how to make wheatpaste
Every network is unique in its activism. Always like to hear the differences in our techniques so I can learn.
Gotcha. I'll read it.
I used to have an article on Media2Rise, but I think it's gone now :(
yeah, it's gone
No worries we won't be placing any for awhile. We're starting "Operation Rural Recruitment" my main goal. In-person recruitment, much like your cowboy event.
That's great to hear. We need to do some more of that
Especially after all the recognition we got
Hell yeah. I'm in dire need of new members, this is my solution.
