You and I should get on mumble, or just come up with some questions for Anthony.
WHen
I'm doing interviews right now
NW mumble tmrw?
copy
Would you prepare some notes and questions you want to ask Anthony next time? I'll do the same
alright
if you're available for a mumble right now we can discuss the interview, job each other's memory, and I can type up a txt doc full of all our questions.
I can't, with family. Let's do it tomorrow
w doug, paul, you and I?
At 9pm tomorrow I'll have to be in another meeting, so I can only stay an hour for our mumble.
Sure, won't take long I'd we all prepare beforehand
what make and model is your honda and what's it's mpg? this other guy says he has a honda insight that gets 38mpg which sounds pretty good imo
yours is a civic but what year i mean
Mine is a 2015 Honda Accord, mileage on the highway is around 35 miles per gallon
Honda is a pretty good make I see
yours is 6 years old and still running strong, no issues?
One of the best. Toyota is also known for its reliability
Japanese know how to make cars. I think I've had one major repair
Plus, Honda's and Toyota's are made in the States, I believe. Rednecks driving Ford's think they're supporting America, when Ford's are made in Mexico
I'm thiinking about trading mine in as it is or getting it repaired and then trading it in for something like what you have or what Theo has
either way this car has outlived it's usefulness
Not a bad idea. Make sure you use Carfax or one of those sites to get a good price for yours and one you want to buy
Kelly Blue Book
Volkswagons are nice, but costly repairs
I used that for determining it's value
Nice
KBB is good
When I worked at Automax in Koontown I saw how unreliable Fords are as well
at least these new ones
If I get a truck someday, it'll be a Toyotra
Paul's Tundra(?) has been very reliable for us thus far
Been thinking about learning plumming. I'm going to help a plumber tonight install some water softeners
Tundra or Tacoma, there are some other good models'
How'd you hear about that?
the plumber thing
My current job is to sell softeners, now I'm going to learn the install side of it. See if I like it
You got into that job cuz of you degree, right
Problem is, Mon - Fri 8 to 5, plus some overtime required
No, but it helped. You don't need a degree to learn a trade
off weekends?
You can become an apprentice. Yes weekends off
how's the pay
I'm getting $130 per softener insalled, but if I stay at it I'll get a salary
I've seen you can apply as a helper and get your foot in the door that way but some places also want that piece of toilet paper to prove you can do the job
You can go to trade school, where you will be payed as an apprentice
Some companies will pay you to finish trade school if you sign a contract to work for them afterwards
for real?
never knew that
Good trades are plumbing, electrical work, welding
Mechanic
I tried to get in to that electrician school in Harker Heights and they asked for 17k up front, WTF
Yeah, that's a significant amount. When you get licensed you make triple digits tho
If you get a loan, you have to commit to seeeing it all the way through
iirc my Ma always tells me not to do those loans and my Father also tells me to do them idk
but I'm hoping this job in Austin situation won't fall through. It will suck at first but if it works out I should be able to make good money and be able to help with expenses for the nw and org more often
Loans are dangerous.
You should avoid taking out loans, and to get a good loan you need good credit anyway. You may just need to get a job you can grind and save some money. I worked at that moving company for 1.5 years and saved up a lot
my availability will likely take a massive hit this I reckon. if it does indeed workout. but it can help not only me and my goals but this nw and the org in the long run.
I applied to myMa's company. The company sucks and so does the work, and it will be long ass hours too but I need the money
assuming i even get it that is
As long as you fulfill your roles, that is whats important. You may have to sacrifice free time to work full time and contribute to PF. I have had to do the same, but there's plenty of time to do everything as long as you stay active and motivated
HEB can kiss my ass. I'm so fed up with them not rehiring me. I applied to Planet fitness and another GYm and I still have nothing.
Ever thought of doing construction? Or physical labor? They'll take almost anyone, and you'll make good pay. Hard work though
The Arm
Like your recycle plant job?
That place sucked. Terrible management. I put in so much effort for little in return.
I've refrained from putting in for super physical jobs because of the arm
Look at indeed for job openings. You have a resume right?
I've been looking at indeed
and yes i have a resume
I just need something until this Austin gig worksout
Just send it out as far and wide as you can, or look online for jobs you'd like to do. You may have to just slog through a shitty job to save some money
I've been doing that
on another note, which one of those dates will be mandatory
i intend on making both, but in the scenario I do get a job which one should I make sure I get off
Both are technically mandatory, but I would shoot for the earlier one. The travel distance is slightly less long. Still a long drive though
oy vey, I'm used to that by now
Tbh NW2 is getting the worst deal on distance here hahaha
:sob:
Not all NWs are required to go to both, but we are due to central location in the country
lol
Al-Q-dullulah!
found two jobs "urgently" hiring upwards of 17 bucks in pay for lang ass hours. I got nothing to lose. NEED FOCKEN MOHNEH
Yeah man, you can't escape it
I need to get a response from the Temple guy, ideally meet both him and Anthony the same day.
I want you and Will with me to vet the Temple guy.
I'm trying to work out a good time for Anthony, both our schedules are fucked right now.
It is Christmas time, so it is to be expected
Would you and Will be able to come to Round Rock or Georgetown to vet Anthony on Sunday?
Evening time, around 6 - 7
I guess Will works then right?
I'll ask
Otherwise it'll have to be Mon/Tues, because you can't drive, or Anthony would have to come up to Temple
I think subbing Will for Paul in Anthony's case makes sense. If A passes, Paul will meet him soon enough
*Tue/Wed
I think it's better to vet one at a time than two guys at the same time, if that what you're thinking
I would like to vet both in the same day, not at the same time
still haven't gotten anything from Temple, correct?
the grind will be worth it in the future
Yeah for sure. I'm getting salary now baby
