Thomas @thomas

@all

We're going to be doing some planning on both the M4L events here. The channels are condensed for my own ease of access. You are not to tell anyone outside these channels of any of these details.

Right now, I need to find three locations for each city.

Security Checkpoint: Security Checks, Briefing, Funding Collection
Secondary Rallypoint (Dropsite): Disembarkment To Downtown, Marching To Demonstration Site: (Must be within 1-2 miles) of Rallypoint
After-Action Regroup: Large Park, Tables, Meeting Space For Exercise, Literature, Within 1hr of Downtown

Samuel/Grant: Your job is to find the above for DC. Metro.
Carter/Randolph: Your job is to find the above for Chicago.

Christopher/Norman: Your job(s) are to advise me on matters of logistics and security. I will plan and manage the formations of activists on the ground.

Radio Etiquette will be the same. Column Elements will be the same, except teams will be of 5, and will be split between flyers, comms, light shields (worn across back), and a flagbearer (for visibility).

We will be keeping minimum of 3 capable individuals at the VE, and leaving no personnel or gear at the original Checkpoint or Rallypoint. These three individuals will have instructions to set off car alarms (with keyfobs) and bring as much attention to any potential assailants as possible. The cars will be embedded in public lots with the vehicles of thousands of other marchers.

All phones will be taken at the Checkpoint, and not returned until the end of the action. We will move together as a convoy, and have radios for internal comms. This can be supplemented by pre-arranged burner phones for emergency navigation while on the road (extensive traffic may make it very hard to convoy). I am unsure of where phones will be during this time because I still do not like the idea of keeping them in one vehicle. The potential for accident (human or vehicular) is still too great to make me comfortable with that notion. Open to ideas. Faraday cages will be used. All bags and persons will be searched at Checkpoint.

Rgr, good stuff.

Norman AL @PF-263100

I'd like to reinforce that any of our guys, especially overwatch and security, should never be alone.

Norman AL @PF-263100

For the phones, if you want, put them in a number of shallow buried caches.

Thomas @thomas

I don't know if we have the locations to do that. We could keep them somewhere off-site easily, and have them guarded by a small team, but the concern would be taking more people out of the march, and having a big, even if fortified, point of failure. Seeing people burying something in a public park could be prob cause for cops to search and confiscate.

Thomas @thomas

Maybe Directors have the phones of their members in a small faraday bag in a backpack. I think the safest place is in the march itself.

Norman AL @PF-263100

Oh I meant more off the grid, there are relatively manageable ways to put a case of valuables in a secure location off the grid for a limited amount of time. Very controlled and not necessarily public or guarded.

Norman AL @PF-263100

But that's true, in the march

Norman AL @PF-263100

Let's have Faraday bags ready, either way

Very excited to be working on such an important project. Nothing is more honorable than to be picked to assist in this mission with my closest brother @Randolph IL . The feeling of success that we kept everyone safe while pushing our message to the masses will be immense.

Going to start working on this tonight, thank you.

Randolph IL @PF-729917

I will fill you in on what I know tonight @ND - Carter MO

@Thomas you can remove @NS - Grant MD from this discussion, swap him out with @Ben MD he will be helping me as Network Quartermaster

Thomas @thomas

I found grant's role in procuring sites especially helpful, even if he will not be there on the day-of.

NS - Grant MD @PF-880297

I can help with everything!

Once we receive an approximate head count, we’ll know exactly how many vehicles to take to the drop site. I would say 1 phone per 4 vehicles will be sufficient in transit. Of course, we can adjust according to attendance.

The locals should, obviously, be leads in the convoys

Thomas @thomas

We don't have any locals to the area itself, or very proficient organizers.

Thomas @thomas

I will be able to be in the area early and scout everything out for a couple days, we can hope, so I may be the most familiar.

We don't have any activists that frequent Chicago anymore.

Whoever is procuring sites then

Thomas @thomas

That would be Carter and Randolph.
