It's time. The social media companies aren't responsible anymore and seek to obtain control by any means they find suitable. It's time to hit them as a public square.

They pushed Net Neutrality warning this would happen. Little did we know that they were releasing their own plans.

But what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Net Neutrality for Twitter now.
Net Neutrality for YouTube now.
Net Neutrality for Reddit now.
Net Neutrality for Facebook now.

Unfortunately from what I saw at the recent Twitter & Facebook hearing, censorship is barely on the Republican's radar.

There's ~60 days left until the midterms. After which none of this may matter.

That's my fear too.

Actually, post-midterms I expect it to all get 100x worse.

The Dems are pushing censorship.

And solidly leading in the midterms

Win or lose they'll double down. Anything to prevent introspection.

I don't know about 'solidly leading'. Trusting polls at this point is risky at best.

I'm definitely in a bubble. I just got burned really badly in 2016 by believing the polls and convincing myself that we were facing eminent civil war.

So I'm not going to ruin my state of mind this time.

I don't feel like fighting this again. You two can keep your heads in the mud for all I care.

But it's likely that this recent ban might actually be because Twitter expected worse than they got.

And the Dems clearly are providing cover.

That seems reasonable.

I'm not seeing enough of a change in contributing factors so far, but I'm not opposed to being wrong

I'm just looking at the actual numbers.

So they softballed them. Or maybe they're just out-of-touch.

That's highly plausible. I think it's both.

I think you're looking at the same narrow polling as last time

The one guy who has attacked them is Cruz and look and behold, he's struggling in what should be a safe seat.

We might already be living in the oligarchy of propaganda and not even notice it.

I'm actually really bothered by Cruz. If he loses, the social media giants will take it as a blank slate to go way off the far end.

Reddit in particular, hates him with a passion.

Cruz is suffering because of residual damage from the thrashing Trump gave him in 2016.

Reddit wouldn't survive the media purge tbh
