A classic

2018-09-09 02:07:43 UTC

I swear, Americans are becoming what India used to be

2018-09-09 02:07:53 UTC

And we are becoming America

2018-09-09 02:08:42 UTC

Especially with the shit California is doing

2018-09-09 02:09:25 UTC

🤔

2018-09-09 02:09:28 UTC

Do you guys think states like Texas may split from America in the coming decades?

2018-09-09 02:09:30 UTC

We don't street shit

2018-09-09 02:10:13 UTC

Why would Texas rebel against GOP hegemony?

2018-09-09 02:10:56 UTC

All the low-key rebellion is happening in blue states.

2018-09-09 02:11:59 UTC

If all the states split up they’d probably get even less recognition

2018-09-09 02:14:14 UTC

For some reason I recalled an old video

2018-09-09 02:14:19 UTC

Of the greatest hero of our time.

2018-09-09 02:14:58 UTC

The US wouldn't allow TX to secede. The US has too much to lose economically.

2018-09-09 02:15:42 UTC

Every methods to protect twitter from 24/7 snooping... yeah but from who? Twitter or United States?

2018-09-09 02:16:00 UTC

So Twitter thinks it is okay for them to snoop on us, but it isn't okay United States can?

2018-09-09 02:16:07 UTC

It can't not allow it to recede though. Isn't it legal for an America state to do a referendum and leave?

2018-09-09 02:16:10 UTC

I find that hypocritical, I hope both understand neither has the right.

2018-09-09 02:16:15 UTC

But apparently it is okay for twitter.

2018-09-09 02:16:27 UTC

It takes an act of Congress for a state to leave.

2018-09-09 02:17:26 UTC

Actually Texas does have the right to break away from United States, but it would be ill advised to door so when Mexico right next do wants Texas really badly.

2018-09-09 02:17:41 UTC

They even stated before that they want their former land back, even though it was bought and paid for by United States.

2018-09-09 02:18:12 UTC

Texas has the right to split into 5 different states if it wants, but no, while it's something of a gray area most experts agree it does not have the right to secede, and that in practice it would absolutely not be granted the privilege

2018-09-09 02:18:31 UTC

It has the right actually.

2018-09-09 02:18:41 UTC

To be part of the union, they kept the right to leave United States.

2018-09-09 02:18:50 UTC

It was on the first and founding agreement of being part of United States.

2018-09-09 02:18:59 UTC

It hasn't change since then.

2018-09-09 02:19:09 UTC

Technically they do have the right to secede.

2018-09-09 02:19:29 UTC

Texas tried to secede during the Civil War. It was not granted that right.

2018-09-09 02:19:42 UTC

No... they joined the confederates.

2018-09-09 02:19:49 UTC

That was a war against the confederates, not against texas itself.

2018-09-09 02:19:50 UTC

They did both.

2018-09-09 02:20:08 UTC

I used to think Texas was crazy for that shit.

2018-09-09 02:20:22 UTC

Now, seeing how LIBTAAAAHHHHHDS behave, I totally totally get it.

2018-09-09 02:20:28 UTC

Texas. I am so sorry.

2018-09-09 02:20:31 UTC

I understand now.

2018-09-09 02:20:46 UTC

Maybe if Sam Houston had stayed in power then we would potentially have the right to secede, but the precedent has been set.

2018-09-09 02:20:54 UTC

Future US Congresses could revise the Texas statehood law to remove the 5-state plan anyway.

2018-09-09 02:21:02 UTC

I honestly didn't like the idea of Texas leaving United States, but I do understand and respect their right too. I have members of my family in Texas.

2018-09-09 02:21:48 UTC

Precedent doesn't super-secede the agreement between Texas and United States.
