I would bet it looks like people wanting to throw out most of the constitution and other people refusing to budge.
The DSA's chief legislative priority is actually electoral reform, and I can bet the Dems are completely on board.
Stuff like, removing the electoral college.
Stacking the legislature and court.
Removing the ability of states to set electoral rules and then requiring them to register more voters (like felons and illegal immigrants)
anyone that doesn't realise that the constitution is a work of art needs their head tested. We should all be so lucky to have anything half as good.
That's the usual attitude in academia right now. Defend the Constitution and get thrown out.
Unless you use it to argue a very specific line.
But Unis will send security to campus organizations putting US flags for 9/11. Or distributing copies of the US constitution and Declaration of Independence on campus--and they've been doing it for decades now.
It's going to be the main break, IMO. Is the US even a nation with a worthwhile history?
My guess is that most people here answer "yes" without reservation. But the social Justice left sees it differently and is violent in it's attack.
This will, of course, get a number of people very angry in response. And at some point, ANTIFA will mass acquire firearms. The Militias already have them.
The constant harassment and aggression against the Republican lawmakers and Republican base is going to normalize the Proud Boys and militias. At some point, they'll start showing up to defend Republicans doing normal things and the Republicans will decide it's much better to have vigilante defense than no defense at all.
And then things will get really ugly.
Honestly, all it really takes at this point for things to explode is a key lawmaker to get killed.

Don't you think that is kind of a sticking point. The people with gun atm have them coz of the 2nd, alot of them live in a gun culture, it's second nature to alot of them. If antifa pick up guns, yeah they can fire them but theres' more to starting a war than holding a gun.
