Going to Canada, working, and staying is difficult unless you have a large (usually racial [or ethnic]) cohort of illegals, or a good job lined up (with the "labour market impact assessment" squared away).

They're fixin' to have that happen, <conspiracy-theory>it might be the EU's plan to get the countries to unify around a cause, some time in the near future, so they'll sign away their sovereignty even further, US PATRIOT Act style.</conspiracy-theory>

We'll know if they're trying because they need an army. Once they actually form one there should be no doubt that's what they're going to do.
