To a degree I disagree, but to a degree I don't. In a perfect world, a free market place of ideas would ensure that the best ideas get to the top, ie. our ideas. However, the existence of the media has precluded this, because whoever controls it holds control over how people think and what is hegemonic. I would like to get them out of the way and restore a real "free market", but even then I recognize that many would still disagree with me, at which point I simply demand separation. But I could also just take control of media and as they have to me, use it to make them think like how I want. In that way, I suppose Im not so much a fan of the free market of ideas. I know the vast majority of people are simply programming, and so I just want the means to program them correctly.
