it's definitely plausible for a poorly designed neural net to favor men. if it was trained on a set of resumes that were mostly men and was geared towards finding more resumes that looked like the training set.

@Atkins Ye, that could be a serious issue. Even just how genders may present themselves in cover letters etc might effect it.
