It can deal with its civilians

2018-10-23 05:37:32 UTC

But a guerilla war against 150m people with guns is impossible to win

2018-10-23 05:37:51 UTC

The US has given up on wars like that already

2018-10-23 05:38:10 UTC

The average citizen is a coward

2018-10-23 05:38:11 UTC

if we had that degree of unity, we wouldn't need force

2018-10-23 05:38:14 UTC

what the fuck u talking about

2018-10-23 05:38:38 UTC

That's fine, actually.

2018-10-23 05:38:42 UTC

They can be cowards.

2018-10-23 05:38:52 UTC

Even passive resistance would be enough.

2018-10-23 05:38:57 UTC

I'm not saying that America is it that stage. I'm saying that his premise that a government has to be impossible to overthrow is flawed. The point of the second amendment is to make the opposite true

2018-10-23 05:39:09 UTC

If we had that degree of unity, not one drop of blood would have to be spilled. Just stop paying taxes.

2018-10-23 05:39:17 UTC

You will bring your government to its knees in months.

2018-10-23 05:39:33 UTC

But @DrWittMDPhD Does have a point, the DOD did a study on how sucessful it would be for the US military to literally fight against its own civilians, they said it would be vastly unfeasable. Alot of soldiers will abandon the military immediately

2018-10-23 05:39:58 UTC

I'd say most, not just a lot

2018-10-23 05:40:09 UTC

and all their supplies and deports would be destroyed/cut-off

2018-10-23 05:40:16 UTC

No, I am talking about the case of there being the unity of 150m people.

2018-10-23 05:40:18 UTC

depots*

2018-10-23 05:40:30 UTC

If there was that level of unity among the population, the point would be moot.

2018-10-23 05:40:41 UTC

Just decide to not pick up the trash in cities for a month.

2018-10-23 05:40:51 UTC

That alone would bring the nation to a standstill.

2018-10-23 05:41:03 UTC

It would be fuckin Robespierre guillotine time before marshal law. K, a hostile government could easily unify a resistance of at least half the population

2018-10-23 05:41:10 UTC

Refuse to operate any public transport in New York.

2018-10-23 05:41:19 UTC

Not 150m armed militia men, but real resistance members

2018-10-23 05:41:24 UTC

Not like lefty gays

2018-10-23 05:41:35 UTC

Yes, but that's the point I am making.

2018-10-23 05:41:44 UTC

With that level of unity, violence is unnecessary.

2018-10-23 05:42:04 UTC

Passive resistance on that scale can bring anything to a standstill.

2018-10-23 05:42:24 UTC

Yeah and 150m would not be that hard if the government tries to use our military to enforce some fascistic marshal law. That's so anti American it's insane to think about and we'd freak the fuck out

2018-10-23 05:42:40 UTC

We're not cucked continentals

2018-10-23 05:43:03 UTC

But, the sad part is that government abuse can continue for a very long time and people will not coordinate.

2018-10-23 05:43:11 UTC

Maybe that is different now with the internet.

2018-10-23 05:43:20 UTC

The Gulag Archipelago detailed this well.

2018-10-23 05:43:25 UTC

Yeah if it's a slow thing, but I'm talking about the marshal law scenario

2018-10-23 05:43:39 UTC

The army of the Soviet Union was incredibly weak for years before that fall.

2018-10-23 05:43:56 UTC

If people had formed militias, it could have ended far sooner, but they were taken away one by one.

2018-10-23 05:44:12 UTC

They still believed in the cause, some even when they were already in the Gulag.

2018-10-23 05:44:51 UTC

Every productive person in Sweden could just decide to stop paying taxes and the migrant crises would end within a month.

2018-10-23 05:45:20 UTC

The thing is, people are divided against each other, so they get states that abuse the ones who are most compliant.

2018-10-23 05:45:41 UTC

The migrant crisis isn't as bad as the Swedish government using it's military to strike it's own people. You keep changing the scenario.

2018-10-23 05:45:58 UTC

Also, Sweden isn't America

2018-10-23 05:46:08 UTC

No, it's actually a very similar scenario.
