atm it only applies to trump's page
and, the worst possible reading of it (which is probably the correct reading)
is that the official cannot ban
but twitter is in no way restricted
there was some county official somewhere in a similar case
everyone else in government can block people, and twitter openly acknowledges they block conservatives
no - government officials can be sued for blocking people on social media now
they took the ability off of trump's page
I am not sure which jurisdictions, but there have already been at least 2 cases
yeah
so twitter can claim, for now, that they are within their rights to do that
while deleting every account they want to
accounts they themselves say have a 1st amendment right to access to donald trump's twitter page
so it seems
again, the first amendment restricts government action, not private action
so
twitter can moderate, but Trump cannot
that will eventually fall, I think
but they can claim that posture until it does
blocking anyone prevents access to trump's page, which they claim is protected legally
at the end of the day, the solution will be to move away from twitter
that is hypocritical
well it doesn't actually
called Logging out
and boom, you can see his page.
you just can't REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE at him
but cannot reply
it was directly including posting to his page
it is freedom of speech
i.e. the freedom to REEEEEEEE
not just reading, they included posting to his page under that federal ruling
There is nothing in Freedom of Speech that say you are able to REEEEEEE at the president directly.
in a public forum?
sure there is
You can still say the things you want to say
you just can't ping his phone.
Well that judge is wrong.
by that standard
twitter was on the judge's side
yes
any citizen should be able to get direct access to the Oval Office for a 1 on 1 meeting
the ruling put twitter in the position they wanted to be in, short term
