pay the gatekeeper, suck it up, and get on with life.

2018-12-21 16:28:57 UTC

and if you get a chance to knock him off, so be it!

2018-12-21 16:29:53 UTC

If everything in life, for you, is so tainted by state corruption that it's not worth trying; then why not just stop eating and sit down until you're dead?

2018-12-21 16:30:01 UTC

I'll bet the food is corrupted by the state

2018-12-21 16:30:07 UTC

the sidewalks, the parks

2018-12-21 16:30:14 UTC

you can't take a walk

2018-12-21 16:30:17 UTC

it's corrupted by the state

2018-12-21 16:30:27 UTC

how about i just bypass the gatekeeper or just our right remove him?

2018-12-21 16:30:36 UTC

lol, try if you can sure

2018-12-21 16:30:37 UTC

do i have to give up on that to "not give up on everything"?

2018-12-21 16:31:02 UTC

don't let impossible ambitions get in the way of those within reach

2018-12-21 16:31:24 UTC

I'd love not to pay for saudi rockets into yemen, or accidentally for palestinian rockets into israel

2018-12-21 16:31:35 UTC

but heh

2018-12-21 16:31:39 UTC

the price is set

2018-12-21 16:32:02 UTC

I either do what I can, or I do nothing.

2018-12-21 16:32:10 UTC

perfection is the enemy of progress

2018-12-21 16:32:18 UTC

if I pitch 20 bucks into a gofundme for a border wall

2018-12-21 16:32:25 UTC

and ten of those bucks go to the treasury in general

2018-12-21 16:32:30 UTC

oh well, that's the price of the meme

2018-12-21 16:32:49 UTC

so i'm not allowed to express dissatisfaction even if i give money anyway, because that is also giving up?

2018-12-21 16:33:01 UTC

because i don't recall saying i would give up.

2018-12-21 16:33:11 UTC

you say these things as though they're reasons not to bother

2018-12-21 16:33:13 UTC

I did it for the lawlz

2018-12-21 16:33:22 UTC

that's why I respond the way I do

2018-12-21 16:33:31 UTC

I _know_ this has a risk of being taxed by the IRS

2018-12-21 16:33:47 UTC

i thought it being taxed would be a funny joke, that it is ironic and annoying. not a show stopper

2018-12-21 16:33:49 UTC

I _know_ this has a risk of not being directly involved in the construction of a border wall

2018-12-21 16:33:56 UTC

fraud is the more concerning issue

2018-12-21 16:34:06 UTC

and is there a problem with questioning how my money goes from point A to B?

2018-12-21 16:34:06 UTC

well, I find it unlikely that they could succeed in a fraud like this

2018-12-21 16:34:19 UTC

they have advertised it as going to a specific place

2018-12-21 16:34:20 UTC

you can’t defend against that. The gov can appropriate private land for such things, and even if the wall were somehow all going to be on private land it would be an ugly awkward looking mess.

2018-12-21 16:34:23 UTC

so if it doesn't go there, the money comes back

2018-12-21 16:34:25 UTC

inevitably

2018-12-21 16:34:26 UTC

There’d also be a slew of regulatory challenges to it. It would also be outrageously hard to organize so many landowners to such a thing. Some of them don’t want the wall.

2018-12-21 16:34:32 UTC

the U.S. legal system is well set up for this

2018-12-21 16:35:16 UTC

@Coochie coo sure, but you could just talk to CBP and ask them what would be an effective private use of $11mm to $1bn

2018-12-21 16:35:23 UTC

they advertise it as going to a specific cause

2018-12-21 16:35:29 UTC

the how seems still a little iffy

2018-12-21 16:35:41 UTC

well, if they fail, refunds are likely

2018-12-21 16:35:49 UTC

GoFundMe is capable of refunding on a scale like this.
