the other problem with I beams is that they are easier to scale than tubes

you can have standard rampart then with a braced triangle on the inside, and slats on the wall on the outside

then any force on it is distrubted along the beam on the back then sent to the ground

@Misomania I think the variable thickness extrusions could make it considerably cheaper, materials wise, and make it simpler to customize for different situations

also maybe some sort of plastic shell over the supports could make it difficult to hook

like a round shell
