Means of production isn't only machines

2018-11-17 13:07:40 UTC

nowdays

2018-11-17 13:07:54 UTC

MOP dosent necessarily mean tools or machines

2018-11-17 13:08:17 UTC

you seem to have a common misconception of socialism

2018-11-17 13:08:24 UTC

looks like I gotta get rid of that

2018-11-17 13:09:41 UTC

and yes @HaplessOperator it's also a misconception that everyone earns the same, don't believe that shit.

2018-11-17 13:10:30 UTC

So, say, for an agency like... Boeing, for example

2018-11-17 13:10:36 UTC

What would the means of production be

2018-11-17 13:12:14 UTC

ur mom

2018-11-17 13:13:05 UTC

Well for boeing, it would be anyone who works for boeing

2018-11-17 13:13:24 UTC

like aerospace engineers and more

2018-11-17 13:14:15 UTC

oh wait I misinterpreted

2018-11-17 13:14:28 UTC

it would be the capital owned by boeing, as well as all facilities and such

2018-11-17 13:15:18 UTC

Workstations, laptops, radios...

2018-11-17 13:15:40 UTC

The guns, working dogs...

2018-11-17 13:15:45 UTC

Well yes, but they may not necessarily be owned by boeing itself if their personal property

2018-11-17 13:15:50 UTC

guns and dogs?

2018-11-17 13:16:19 UTC

What about the ambulances and medical equipment.

2018-11-17 13:16:34 UTC

And the fire trucks.

2018-11-17 13:17:01 UTC

they would be owned by the respective agency, unless their facilities have inhouse medical equipment and fire trucks

2018-11-17 13:17:18 UTC

It is in-house, yes.

2018-11-17 13:17:25 UTC

Same with the guns and working dogs.

2018-11-17 13:17:54 UTC

Well then, they would be owned communally then, nobody is able to take that privately for themselves

2018-11-17 13:18:06 UTC

laptops may be personal property

2018-11-17 13:18:12 UTC

Couldn't be.

2018-11-17 13:18:28 UTC

Security measures would basically preclude that in any way.

2018-11-17 13:18:47 UTC

There's sensitive, *sensitive* shit at those facilities.

2018-11-17 13:18:51 UTC

Well, yea.

2018-11-17 13:18:58 UTC

so what other questions do you have?

2018-11-17 13:19:24 UTC

So how does that mesh, when you run into shit that cannot be communally owned or handled due to its very nature

2018-11-17 13:19:36 UTC

things like?

2018-11-17 13:19:57 UTC

Like the laptops. And guns. Basically anything that would be serialized gear.

2018-11-17 13:20:35 UTC

laptops will be your own personal property, while for guns if their company guns then no.

2018-11-17 13:20:51 UTC

But we already established that the laptops couldn't work like that.

2018-11-17 13:21:03 UTC

You couldn't take this sort of thing home.

2018-11-17 13:21:10 UTC

but really, laptops are kind of vague really, they arent a MOP and we don't want to collectivise them

2018-11-17 13:21:20 UTC

Except here they are MOP

2018-11-17 13:21:34 UTC

They're company capital, the tools of the trade

2018-11-17 13:21:50 UTC

And a storehouse of sensitive information that *cannot* be leaked.

2018-11-17 13:22:28 UTC

Well, MOP is anything that can be considered as a utility able to make a profit or considered capital, but company laptops may not be necessarily be considered a MOP, but the laptop/computer YOU own, the house and car YOU own, they are personal property.

2018-11-17 13:23:37 UTC

any other questions?
