Naand mense. Willem ek sien my discord comment het gewerk😀
Discord is beter as whatsapp en nie amal wil skype chat of IRC gebruik nie so discord werk lekke. Kan altyd private servers create as daar te veel trolls is later aan.

Guy in the US won his case to publish CAD files for firearms

2018-07-17 17:47:00 UTC

More to be added in he future

2018-07-17 17:47:10 UTC

Files will be available in August

2018-07-17 17:47:50 UTC

I don’t know what the laws on part acquisitions in SA are but this would be a game changer

2018-07-17 17:48:18 UTC

Especially as it pertains to gun control and self defence

2018-07-17 17:48:19 UTC

Ditsem! @Frederick Bernal, you just advanced to level 1!

2018-07-17 17:48:35 UTC

SA gun laws are causing chaos at the moment.

2018-07-17 17:54:05 UTC

What part of the firearm is considered the “gun” itself in SA?

2018-07-17 17:54:25 UTC

In the US and in Canada just the receiver is the firearm

2018-07-17 17:54:45 UTC

Everything else can be acquired with out a license or permit in general

2018-07-17 17:55:16 UTC

In the UK it is the bolt, and trigger mechanism

2018-07-17 17:55:38 UTC

Or is it the case that in SA every component is regulated?

2018-07-17 17:55:38 UTC

Im just asking on GOSA facebook group.

2018-07-17 17:55:44 UTC

Ok

2018-07-17 17:59:18 UTC

Hmm

2018-07-17 18:00:17 UTC

From what I can find it seems “main firearm component” means the barrel, frame, receiver, slide, bolt or breech-block of a firearm

2018-07-17 18:00:33 UTC

That is more onerous than what the UK has to deal with

2018-07-17 18:00:38 UTC

Huh

2018-07-17 18:01:11 UTC

Those CAD files would still be very resourceful for those with the right tools and equipment though

2018-07-17 18:02:09 UTC

What is your source for info on componet regulations in SA?

2018-07-17 18:02:26 UTC

One second

2018-07-17 18:03:27 UTC

Page 6

2018-07-17 18:03:31 UTC

Right at the top

2018-07-17 18:03:57 UTC

Basically under definitions

2018-07-17 18:05:37 UTC

Further I found more info on a forum on the topic back in 2012

2018-07-17 18:06:23 UTC

Barrel needs to be registered with your license it seems

2018-07-17 18:07:32 UTC

Thanks Frederick

2018-07-17 18:08:11 UTC

Well enjoy the CAD files, for educational purposes

2018-07-17 18:08:11 UTC

Ditsem! @Frederick Bernal, you just advanced to level 2!

Its stupidly difficult to get a gun licence now, my cousin needed a police officer to sign his form and in the police station a black officer said "why do you need a gun? your going to kill my people with it?' and tore it up.

2018-07-17 18:10:07 UTC

That is stupid

2018-07-17 18:10:35 UTC

yaman and the irony is that we all had guns and handed them over in the amnesty

2018-07-17 18:11:02 UTC

It would be interesting to know those numbers

2018-07-17 18:11:09 UTC

I imagine some people held back some

2018-07-17 18:11:50 UTC

Even here in Canada when we had 4-5 million licensed people only half opted in the new licensed system
