Welcome @adrianowerneck !
Hello there
Anything interesting going on at the moment? :)
Hey, you two!
So what did everyone get up to for International Men's Day?
hello my friends
Hello as well! Looks like things are really getting going.
Hello everyone! I'm new to the MensRights sub and my interest is purely academic
cool
Howdy everyone! I'm Silver and I'm a novelist! I hope those of you in the US are enjoying a happy turkey day!
I'd like to ask something that may seem repeated or ignorant, I've navigated through the sub and saw how the general claim is that the system is rigged against men (disposable ... etc), having almost 200k subscriber why don't you channel your voices through a representative to be elected to the house ?
That sounds like a good idea, though a lot of us are international. I'm not sure of that matters at all. We do encourage people to send letters to their local representative. I'm willing to host open letters and replies on www.menarehuman.com if anyone is interested. The most recent thing like this was a letter to the BBC which you can read about here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/9z6n0k/response_from_the_bbc_following_a_complaint_about/?utm_source=reddit-android
@AnObserver Here is a good post as to why the mobilization is difficult: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/90hul0/karen_straughan_on_why_mens_rights_is_so_difficult/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=user&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=u_Silver_The_Bard
I read the letter and there was an interesting sentence that took my eye "judgement call, than an exact science" , I'm a Data Engineer and statistician and I've head it several times before it usually means "it's an ideological call, and not what our audience base should see"
Oh, well the blocking function works. π
Just deleted those posts by @japanese man#6989 I'll ban him if he keeps it up
@Silver_The_Bard Thanks a lot, that's a really good read with some points that really hit home.
@Silver_The_Bard Thank you for the article, it was quite revealing , now let me just say couple of things, first the way you can fix the logistics issue can be through crowdfunding for Ads so more men know that they aren't alone thus getting more support for the group, second and this is based on my limited knowledge of how identity politics collapsed through history I see that you have two ways to go either continue to resist in a direct way like you do now , or help to push the radical left/feminism/LGBT ideas , this kind of politics always felt because of the principle of explosion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle_of_explosion) in simple words if their was no more legal categorization of sex/gender the biggest beneficiary would be men because women are seen as a protected class , and this idea of removing sex/gender from the legal documents it extremely welcomed by the radical LGBT which made it harder for the feminists to go against (exemple : GRA reform) . I wish you all justice and best of luck π
@AnObserver Thanks a lot. Some really interesting ideas. We should take this to the wider Reddit and see if we can set something up.
I don't think we can get involved with feminism directly - it's very anti male. But I'm sure we are all happy to ally with any who are willing to help us.
@AnObserver Cool Theory. I thought those were the only two options myself for a time.
You could compare the Menβs Rights Movement to the Civil Rights movement in the 1960βs. A group devoted to changing society, by using the already established rules of civility.
But there have been a rise of two other groups that have puzzled me.
Incel is probably best compared to the Black Panthers of the same time era. A group fuel by hate that wants change BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
