Hold on there, bucko

2019-01-15 17:12:07 UTC

How to be a nice guy and still not be cucked

2019-01-15 17:48:55 UTC

Basically emphasize masculine traits while still remaining respectful

2019-02-03 11:56:34 UTC

I'm curious is there anyone else here that's a deist

2019-02-04 00:57:25 UTC

not me

2019-02-04 05:40:30 UTC

@abturk125 i get confused when people say "deist" i have heard multiple definitions

2019-02-04 05:43:57 UTC

Deist is typically used to describe belief in a god who doesn’t interact with the universe after its creation. Theism would be the normal description of belief in a more active god

2019-02-04 05:49:40 UTC

ya see, to me, thats a very limited view of God

2019-02-04 05:50:57 UTC

it seems to have this subconscious assumption that time applies to God, it doesn't

2019-02-04 05:51:45 UTC

but ill stop, religions is a mindf*ck, politics is much simpler

2019-02-04 10:39:03 UTC

@Scipio Americanus Crono defined it pretty well

2019-02-04 11:41:58 UTC

@Scipio Americanus there are deists who would assert that the universe is totally under that gods control despite being deists in a manner similar to the one you seem to be inferring through applying some means of determinism but this would be a progression of the universe by natural law to fulfil that will rather than the more direct interference such as miracles that many theists would understand as being an extension of their gods will. Determinism is a pretty hefty issue theologically though and would require some critical analysis that this forum would seem to preclude.

2019-02-04 12:56:24 UTC

>emphasazing masculine traits

2019-02-04 12:56:31 UTC

its very insecure thing to do

2019-02-04 20:56:12 UTC

@CronoSaturn i tend to find that when you zoom out to the point of looking at determinism, shit becomes a a clusterf*ck really quick. When in reference to God, or really anything that would be bigger or beyond our universe, science no longer applies. Therefore, literally only God knows

2019-02-04 20:59:40 UTC

hence why theism turns to mysticism. what annoys me is when they try to contradict science with mysticism, drives me fucking crazy. "God did it" me "FUCKING HOW?" HE LIKES PATTERNS AND EXPLANATIONS ENOUGH FOR SCIENCE TO EXIST SO HOW?"

2019-02-04 20:59:49 UTC

*clears throat* excuse me, this just really irritates me

2019-02-05 04:15:37 UTC

Are you aware that there are ways of knowing things beyond empirical science?

2019-02-06 05:36:05 UTC

@FreshWholeMilk are you aware i mentioned exactly that?

2019-02-06 05:38:56 UTC

thats literally a huge part of my point, it just when science is involved and i ask a scientific question, im not looking for a "who" but a "how". its like asking how a car is built and you tell me factory workers.

2019-02-10 13:12:30 UTC

People who dismiss science and replace it with science are fools

2019-02-10 13:12:44 UTC

You can have both you mongoloids

2019-02-10 13:20:42 UTC

wat

2019-02-10 13:20:59 UTC

so we can have 2 science ???

2019-02-10 19:05:02 UTC

@Holly Jolly Willow i think you mean replace god with science but this seems to be the line scipio is taking

2019-02-10 19:13:24 UTC

When society reaches the inevitable arrival of transhumanism there will come a time of nihilism in the sense that the values provided by God will no longer be enough to accomodate for post-human human existence

2019-02-10 19:14:19 UTC

Nietzche delved into this topic extensively and its worth it to have a look at his concepts of "God is dead" and the "ubermensch"

2019-02-10 19:17:05 UTC

human beings that eventually reach lifespans of 500+ years will eventually have to start looking towards themselves to create their own values where God fails to provide, as the lack of "death" will eventually make it easier for humans to fall into degeneracy
