If you want to claim scientific method as part of a *Western Culture* fair enough I guess, but that has been under assault for a long time in the academia in favor of things like "lived experiences"

doesnt seem to be. the global hegemon is america and its pretty secure. its challengers? not so much. also "lived experience" might be talked about but i dont see it being used in the field by engineers

allowing criticism reinforces its adoption and allows it to adapt
