Okay, I have a question that one of my friend recently brought up while they were playing WoWs. What is the purpose of the metal protrusions of the flight deck towards the rear of some of the Japanese aircraft carriers? Like the ones pictured here: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bviNGASjFos/maxresdefault.jpg (found it on google images, couldn't really find anything else that emphasized what I was talking about)

Next time you fly, pay attention as the aircraft passes into the airport right before landing

You'll see similar stripes at the entry (boundary area) for each runway.

Usually they're yellow.
