yeah that's an issue, the Asylum system was notoriously rife with abuse of the patients, but closing the asylums outright just made everything worse

Well, it was a cottage system and like, hospital ward of some sort.

Built on a either 20's or 60's asylum. The linen closet was a converted padded room for example. Honestly, after working with retarded people I have no sympathy for them. Also, after encountering them for so long, when I see autistic people I lump them in too.

I know that's awful but, honestly I don't think anyone can convince me an autistic person isn't just an idiot savant. They have all the same social triggers retarded people do.

Also another small town problem for the same town, when Michelle did her lunch push bullshit, her staff visited and ruined the food.

Our cafeteria ladies used to make home-made southern pies, meatloafs, all sorts of good shit that made big strong country boys and girls. Now our kids are eating those nasty square pizzas and frozen kale and shit. I'm not trying to roast Obama's tenure in the white house as he was my commander in chief or whatever but, all this shit happened around the same time and really fucked our home town. Also him downsizing the military hurt a lot of people too.

Honestly I thought it was a fine idea to try and get kids to "Eat healthy" or whatever but forcing schools to do anything about it from a federal level just fucked everything

if you're going to do soemthing like that it should just be an information campaign

It forced schools from being allowed to have staff home cook meals, to private contractors that supply schools with frozen microwave meals...

Which worked for shitty ghetto schools up north as it was a slight improvement but, for our town, where our lunch ladies would cook food for hours before school started or the day before in their own home and bring it in; it ruined one of the good things our kids had. Also students and staff can't have shotguns in their truck gun racks anymore, so I guess it's just the modern world hitting a small town hard.

Well, during my senior year my buddy was getting out of his truck and the principal wanted to look at his fudd over under shotgun.

So he agrees, and the principal and him are sorta buddies because my bud gets in trouble so fucking much for practical jokes and being a hellraising moron, he's in the office every other day. The principal mentions he's going turkey hunting that weekend but, he's looking for a shotgun. Sure enough, my buddy lets him borrow it with that stupid country grin of his and the principal goes and bags some turkey that weekend.

Now? I returned five years later and according to the city council/school I can be arrested for having a knife in my car if I park in their parking lot. I was told this later as alumni, I was there on a visitor pass. The same rule applies to faculty and students.
