I'm assuming someone proficient in rifle shooting but has never done long range

2017-04-13 20:48:48 UTC

@Convo the .300winmag has more effective range because it has a higher muzzle velocity

2017-04-13 20:49:11 UTC

Because these tiny bullets are so easily manipulated by the outside forces

2017-04-13 20:49:20 UTC

They really teach you about wind, drop etc

2017-04-13 20:49:31 UTC

All while being able to get good at your local 100 yard range

2017-04-13 20:49:33 UTC

Again, you aren't wrong, but there are steps.

2017-04-13 20:49:39 UTC

Which is super easy access to normies

2017-04-13 20:49:45 UTC

I've got a .308 @Caerulus_Rex I was looking for something really long range. the 6.5 looks similar to the .308, is it worth it two have a 6.5 and .308?

2017-04-13 20:49:54 UTC

to have*

2017-04-13 20:49:54 UTC

I learned long range on a 50 cal

2017-04-13 20:49:58 UTC

Right and a 400yd+ range is much harder to come by

2017-04-13 20:50:06 UTC

Damn, that's expensive learning

2017-04-13 20:50:07 UTC

Im just saying what I suggest to normies on a budget is that

2017-04-13 20:50:14 UTC

Implying I paid for ammo

2017-04-13 20:50:52 UTC

yea im fantasizing about dropping cash i dont have yet on a .338, but I hear its not worth the money per round

2017-04-13 20:51:04 UTC

Nope

2017-04-13 20:51:04 UTC

@SledgeHammer near nyc

2017-04-13 20:51:07 UTC

@BershaeS .308 ammo is easily obtained and a better SHTF option. 6.5 creedmore has better ballistic properties and is a competition round.

2017-04-13 20:51:10 UTC

It's shooting 5 dollar bills

2017-04-13 20:51:15 UTC

That's why Stephen

2017-04-13 20:51:40 UTC

yea, I've got a .308 on the ar 10 platform. Figure I'll just use what I got and put the cash towards tardets and ammo

2017-04-13 20:51:42 UTC

targets

2017-04-13 20:51:43 UTC

6.5s efficacy in hunting or against humans hasn't really been established yet

2017-04-13 20:51:50 UTC

So SHTF prolly rock 308

2017-04-13 20:51:55 UTC

We have lots of data on that

2017-04-13 20:51:59 UTC

@BershaeS there are few places other than desert planes where you actually would find a shot you need a .338 for

2017-04-13 20:52:20 UTC

.338 is for alaskan bear hunting

2017-04-13 20:52:25 UTC

And I'm talking about shots I;m not even confident in my own ability to make

2017-04-13 20:52:33 UTC

is there an ideal ar 10 setup for shtf? this is my ar 15 build, should the ar 10 be similar?

2017-04-13 20:52:36 UTC

@Caerulus_Rex that's assuming the ROE makes sense to wngage

2017-04-13 20:52:37 UTC

@SledgeHammer I base my rifle decisions based on ammo supply of the country. If shit ever hits the fan, I want 762x51, 556, and 9mm

2017-04-13 20:52:44 UTC

Yupp makes sense

2017-04-13 20:52:49 UTC

I agree with you

2017-04-13 20:52:55 UTC

@SledgeHammer I'm talking about hunting

2017-04-13 20:53:01 UTC

@BershaeS PM me I'll help you

2017-04-13 20:53:23 UTC

gtg lads

2017-04-13 20:53:28 UTC

But in general something like a 1-8 is optics is good

2017-04-13 20:53:28 UTC
