Then he said he's "kind of a dog" and "not looking for a relationship"; after talking to my friend for a while and stewing over it for awhile we've pretty much come to the conclusion that the guy I like is afraid he'll hurt my feelings

He's seen me cry during work (sometimes I get upset about shit and weep) and he's been visibly agitated by it

Over the last 20 years, employers have become greedy assholes and the employees have become desperate to survive.

If they want you somewhere they'll get you a plane or a rental car, if you're stranded in the middle of wyoming trying to get home they'll maybe advance the cost of a greyhound bus ticket out of your paycheck

They'll take a 2k mile job away from you when you're almost to the shipper and give you a 600 mile job that picks up in 12 hours

Fuck them man. If i worked the same jobs i do now 20 years ago, I wouldn't have to fucking fight for my money, wouldn't have to worry about dishonest management trying to steal my paycheck, wouldn't have to worry about my employer stealing my tips. Wouldn't have to work my ass off just so that they could press 2 buttons on the dashboard. Wouldn't have to suffer through something they refused to fix for 2 years because they couldn't get thier massively outsourced labor to fix it.

All their equipment is unreliable as fuck, the only good thing is the trucks and trailers themselves

All the electronics, stereos, gps's, computers, driver eLogs etc... are shit and crash all the time

Oh yeah. I hate that I get treated like a dumb ape whenever I want to talk to management, but when the legit dumb apes that pull shit like *ACCUALLY fuck people over*, they get treated with more respect than they deserve.

They have a choice in advancing the money for a weigh station ticket:
$400 pays off the ticket but it stays on your record
$600 pays off the ticket and clears your record
So they'll advance $400

Cant stand corp culture. All of em wasted flesh.

They'll try to pin any accidents that weren't your fault on you and fire you so you can't use your $8/mo legal plan in your benefits

They'll lie about how many miles are on a job to make you accept it

Why stay with them over another company?

All the newer companies that are doing well and reporting record numbers, are simultaneously fucking over their employees and outsourcing in extreme amounts. "Fuck the customer. Fuck the employee. Fuck the businesses you service. I pay 1/20th everyone else does so im still making money if i fuck all you over."

To combat that, modern companies in america make sure to put high amounts, sometimes impossible amounts of requirements / job experience so they have every reason in the world to pay you near minimum wage for a undergrad/grad job or trade.

I had a long thought and now I realize that I've been a dick sometimes.
