https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRnRZReMyRI&list=PLIgPxGZUeh_NsyduZI3KtNgU1-XztgvEJ&index=1313 This is a good example of how lefitsm is not as monolithic as it would like to present itself. There is no grand conspiracy. Just a bunch of similarly minded people, (trained in the frankfurt school ideals and postmodernisn of course) individually and in small groups, pushing toward a smilar goal. It's not a conspiracy, it's memetics. In this case, the leftists at the LA times were not properly aligned with the talking points from the leftists in the comic book industry. So they published something contradicting the line that comics are doing amazing, sales wise. There are still other left leaning critics who claim that print comics are dead, and comics are now just a test bed for movie characters to be used when the current stars (RDjr, all the Chrises, etc) retire. So they'll have a ready made BK kids club lineup.
What I'm trying to say is there is no grand left wing conspiracy, global or otherwise, it's just memetics. The massive numbers manga does at home and abroad is proof print media isn't really "dying" Marvel et all haven't handeled the digital space as well as they could have and they're paying the price. They also aren't appealing to kids or their older readers. Has there been a really memorable new comic character in mainstream comics in the last quarter century? That's not a problem with the media itself dying. That's wilful creative stagnation.
