@Denno I had a good luck with joining online forums, plenty information at no cost. Joining a gardening club in the city you live in with help you putting that knowledge to the test, same time you will have a teacher or mentor and will guide you to success.

I remember a while ago tfm recommended a book called "urban prepper"
