not being greedy doesn't mean foregoing excess
Empires collapsed because empires are made of many ethnic groups brought together by force
Nations /= empire
Nation is blood and soil
Nations last, typically, until another nation fucks their shit up
But what is the delineation between reasonable excess and greed and who decides that
That is the fundamental question that we have to face all the time
>imagine antifa reading this chat
@Xeno the French FedNigger you into Arthurian mythology at all?
Ever seen Excalibur?
Antifa thinks all we talk about is cousin fuckin and nigger lynchin
I think the question of excess is a spiritual one
All they talk about is Star Wars and Harry Potter
But thats only when @badtanman is around
and it isn't just excess of the material either
@skooks true story
even when we strive to be virtuous we can be overly confident, or overly kind
@Moosey it may be and this may be why religious people donate a lot
of course
lmao arabs need a tax to do it for them tho
Yeah but sand niggers
So
But I digress I think that Christianity is somewhat ill-equipped to deal with these questions and focuses far too much on the material aspect of charity
@SwiFT read some in medieval lit in uni but didn't go too far with it. Read a version of Excalibur lore from someone but can't recall who atm. Never seen the movie though. Why?
@Xeno the French FedNigger he is enamored with it
Excess of charity is impossible. Charity, properly understood, has an upper limit, after which it becomes sinful. Over giving, esp in material terms, degrades the party to whom it is given or improperly supports practices that are inimical to virtuous life.
is that the basis for tithe?
Give a man a fish every day and he becomes a nigger. Teach a man to fish and he could possibly avoid such a fate (barring the obvious constraint)
teach everyone to fish and there are no fish left
Basically. It shouldn't even necessarily be direct support. It should frankly be used to sustain the Church whereas direct donation should be in the same spirit. Help the other person become better, don't subsidize their sin.
But i need muh gibs homie
This is why I support the idea of single payer but if it's paying for sex changes and subsidizing THOT behavior I'd rather have nothing.
ππ» let ππ»the ππ» weak ππ» die ππ» sometimes
honestly single payer would be great if there were death panels with /ourguys/ on them
etc
It's a disaffected Christianity that supports those who are weak by choice and the sinful by character. Uplifting the virtuous but dispossessed is kinda the root of the notion. That's obviously been twisted in modernity but what hasn't fam?
honestly indulgences weren't that bad
only overpriced indulgences
Agreed. Sacrificing the product of your efforts for the benefit of the Church is a good thing. When it became a (((business))) is when it became an issue.
that's why vow of priestly poverty is a good thing imo fam
