there was a position for the parent company of Phillip Morris that was for a SP/365 admin that was open for 9 months when I was contacted by a recrruiter and I was told several times "holy shit you're perfect for this job" over and over by several different people

2017-07-26 19:26:53 UTC

everyone who interviewed me or spoke to me assured me "there is no way you won't recieve this position, your experience is exactly what we need"

2017-07-26 19:27:42 UTC

and then at the end of all the process I was told by the actual hiring supervisor that they had a company policy of not hiring people without college degrees because "college teaches an important way of thinking critically"

2017-07-26 19:28:07 UTC

the disappointment was immense and very upsetting

2017-07-26 19:28:11 UTC

if that's the case find the cheapest easiest way to knock out the rest of your degree from a decent enough school

2017-07-26 19:29:20 UTC

ok

2017-07-26 19:29:21 UTC

so

2017-07-26 19:29:28 UTC

what I said was integrate

2017-07-26 19:29:51 UTC

the goal is to use the position you are already in to make yourself a living god

2017-07-26 19:29:56 UTC

Even so in a position that wouldn't be netting me 90k with an excellent 401k and benefits, such as the positions you have open for tier one desktop, I am usually turned down. I present myself well, I am fit, I am well spoken, etc. but I lack a degree. I am unsure of how to move forward.

>convo finally refollows you on twitter shortly after you RT a dumb anime meme

2017-07-26 19:31:15 UTC

2017-07-26 19:31:17 UTC

right, I feel like that's a very vague answer, despite it, I appreciate the advice, please do not take my query for more specification as unappreciation.

2017-07-26 19:31:27 UTC

bro

2017-07-26 19:31:33 UTC

not trying to be vague

2017-07-26 19:31:58 UTC

2017-07-26 19:32:08 UTC

2017-07-26 19:32:13 UTC

2017-07-26 19:32:23 UTC

I was most interested in physical pentesting

2017-07-26 19:32:43 UTC

and the place I was working at prior to building my company was an Airline

2017-07-26 19:33:23 UTC

I introduced physical pentesting to them after pushing them for months that I could walk around without being challenged

2017-07-26 19:33:31 UTC

on an active airport

2017-07-26 19:33:44 UTC

My director didnt listen

2017-07-26 19:33:50 UTC

so I went to the CFO

2017-07-26 19:33:55 UTC

who is German

2017-07-26 19:34:32 UTC

I told him that I could break into his office, steal his credentials and use them to get into most areas of one of the hangars that is locked down

2017-07-26 19:34:49 UTC

he liked my arrogance

2017-07-26 19:34:53 UTC

and I proved myself

2017-07-26 19:35:01 UTC

you have to take risks

2017-07-26 19:35:13 UTC

dont be scared to ask for opportunities to do more

2017-07-26 19:35:26 UTC

and if people are not willing to listen, then go above them

2017-07-26 19:35:40 UTC

and make sure you can back your ass up

2017-07-26 19:35:56 UTC

Anyways

2017-07-26 19:36:02 UTC

2017-07-26 19:36:35 UTC

My escapades got around

2017-07-26 19:36:48 UTC

I got job offers by DHS and TSA

2017-07-26 19:37:14 UTC

I turned them down and used some of my contacts as my first customer base

2017-07-26 19:37:19 UTC

started moonlighting

2017-07-26 19:37:54 UTC

after several months, I voluntarily ended my contract 3 days before it expired

2017-07-26 19:38:00 UTC

and started CTI.SEC
