I say a poet is a job title, you only use it when that's how you make a living

@Ares Idk, I don't really count everything as poetry and I don't feel like a lot of people really do.

I'd say you use it when people consider you to be a poet

John Donne is one of the most famous poets but he didn't make a living out of it. Many poets were poor and didn't care about monetising it but we consider them to be great
