Anyone know anything about getting an x-box headset working on a laptop and on Windows 10?

On skype the controller doesn't come up as an option. Doesn't in discord either.
have you restarted the comp?
Pressing the guide button will bring stuff up on screen, though.

One thing that happened is when I tried to install the xbox controller mic drivers it moved from the sound, video and controllers section of device manager into other devices as an unknown device.
You may try different drivers
I need a new motherboard and chip for my PC but I've got a lot of other crap to deal with right now.

Roight. So I fiddled with device manager and have got the computer seeing the mic and the headset as options. The headset speaker works. The mic does not.

i had a similar problem and solved it by cycling through different audio drivers
that enabled the front audio panel for me
