my theory
is that the narwhal is the crown proteting the all seeing eye on reddit more particularly
the narwhal guards the upvotes
in this coat of arm the narwhale protects the compass rose which is symbolic of the north pole

Reddit is (I think) is owned by Condé Nast's , Advance Publications,. But is still allowed to operate on it's own

Unicorn has always been symbolic of individual excellence and achievement. The unicorn is important. It's exactly what they seek to destroy. Not entirely clear if the norwal and unicorn are related, the way it's often said.
