i already have a bag of the mainsprings, and ar fcg, and material for the bolt and carrier and to make the barrel

the reason the barrel is so short is because thats the longest barrel i can make on my mini lathe

the reason the back is so long is because there is a certain length the spring has to be to not compress below a certain point

you could try a hydraulic recoil buffer

like an MP40 has

idk if you have the stuff to make that though but it could shorten the back end

the back end is long cause of the spring

it has to have at least like 2.4" of space to allow for compression

cause if it does and the gun is a pistol caliber you can definitely cut some length off the back of the carrier

nah it's got a 1.25 diameter steel bar as the 'carrier' which is just there for weight with a 3/4" bar pinned to it that's the actual bolt
