Wut

2017-11-23 13:24:20 UTC

Unhinged people are a treath to society

2017-11-23 13:24:40 UTC

Murderers are in prison because they also endanger others

2017-11-23 13:24:50 UTC

"Without agency you cannot condem" is how i sum up Mittens paragraph

2017-11-23 13:25:00 UTC

But you have to admit that there's something fundamentally different in their brains from our brains which determines each of our disparate actions.

2017-11-23 13:25:08 UTC

Pretty much, Dan.

2017-11-23 13:25:24 UTC

Except, I think it's more complicated than that. Everyone does have a different brain which effects their behavior in different ways.

2017-11-23 13:25:34 UTC

I disagree but i understand form where the argument comes from

2017-11-23 13:25:45 UTC

And they need to keep themselfs in check

2017-11-23 13:25:53 UTC

Even if you wanted to add the concept of free will into it, you would have to admit that some people would be more inclined to choose different behaviors than we are inclined to include disparate ones.

2017-11-23 13:25:55 UTC

@✿ Mittens ✿ sure, but that's why punishment exists. To reshape those brains to getting back to "murder is wrong"

2017-11-23 13:26:11 UTC

That's not how the united states prison system words though.

2017-11-23 13:26:32 UTC

That's because the us prison system doesnt work. Period

2017-11-23 13:26:58 UTC

Poor implementation =/= bad concept

2017-11-23 13:27:10 UTC

I mean you have more people in prison than the population of European counties

2017-11-23 13:27:59 UTC

Look at a prison system like Norway's they have a system of rehabilitation, they treat prisoners with dignity and comfort, and they have a much lower recidivism rate. The united states, we basically create convicts and hardened criminals in our prison system. Listen to this one interview with a former NYPD police officer who went to prison and had his entire perspective of the prison system changed. Listen to musicians like Peter Steele talk about how prison made him a better criminal. There's evidence just in our statistics in our country, we have a much higher recidivism rate, because we treat our prisons like basically factory farms.

2017-11-23 13:28:32 UTC

But if you did things like Norway then you'd be a cuck

2017-11-23 13:28:35 UTC

It's also a form of legalized slave labor, the US prison system.

2017-11-23 13:29:01 UTC

The norway system would aslo be expensive

2017-11-23 13:29:25 UTC

The people of Norway also have a different outlook on life in general

2017-11-23 13:29:31 UTC

And i think everyone agrees the us prison system is shit, its just not a particularly easy thing to just "fix"

2017-11-23 13:29:54 UTC

That's fine. You said that prison is to fix people's brains, my objection is that that's demonstrably wrong in the US prison system.

2017-11-23 13:29:55 UTC

**I am outside of the inane endless struggle of humanity.**

2017-11-23 13:30:10 UTC

^ whats with that?

2017-11-23 13:30:16 UTC

Idk, it's annoying.

2017-11-23 13:30:23 UTC

Meta memes

2017-11-23 13:30:47 UTC

K. Seems cringey. But I'm new here so what the fuck do i know

2017-11-23 13:30:54 UTC

I honestly wish I could move to a Scandinavian country, because I think America is shit.

2017-11-23 13:31:17 UTC

I'm so tired of living here.

2017-11-23 13:31:23 UTC

Enjoy your long winters and 18 hour nights

2017-11-23 13:31:38 UTC

2017-11-23 13:31:51 UTC

Don't let your memes be dreams

2017-11-23 13:52:21 UTC

Danish weather and climate is mild, and the culture is not as self-hating as Swedish.

2017-11-23 13:52:51 UTC

Denmark is definetly the best choice

2017-11-23 13:53:04 UTC

good luck getting past the immigration laws though

2017-11-23 13:53:14 UTC

No need for car good public transport and good salaries

2017-11-23 13:54:58 UTC

Well, that kind of depends on where you settle. Most cities are expensive to live in, and it's really only in those that you can live without a car.

2017-11-23 13:56:33 UTC

Where I live, the busy mornings can cause the public transport to take almost an hour to get where you can go on a bicycle in 15 minutes.

2017-11-23 13:57:51 UTC

I suppose some of this is caused by the fact that it's an old city that has been slow to upgrade its infrastructure

2017-11-23 13:59:43 UTC

Which just goes to show, even the places championed as veritable paradise by certain politicians, has a great many things to be improved upon, for it to even be anywhere close to deserving of such a comparison.

2017-11-23 14:00:34 UTC

or idk you could stop bitching about infrastructure and do that 15min bike ride
