yeah, well, there's a lot more constructive criticism of it at least here, because we've had it implemented and running as part of our grid for so long - essentially the best criticism is one a friend of mine who works at a power plant had, which is "the wind mills only produce power when we don't need it"

I do see gender is a bit of an unnecessary concept in itself. The only reason that someone would want to categorize people into two rigid definitions such as male or female is if they want to use that to their advantage. Since gender is a social construct and anyone can exhibit masculine or feminine traits (and people who oppose this are attempting to grasp power over the feminine, usually), there is no reason to me to adopt labels within this structure. I respect transgender labels that exist within this binary structure because they do subvert the structure in a way that disfavors the structure, but I believe that in order to truly emancipate ourselves from gendered oppression, we would need to eliminate things based around this binary structure.
I like to see gender as people's god, per say. God doesn't actually exist, people project their ego, what they see in themselves, onto these labels such as god and gender. A lot of people, if you insult god they feel that you're insulting them personally, because everything they feel about god is just a reflection of their own feelings. When you strip away people's god, they often times have difficulty coping with the sense that they're free, and all the choices they have to make can lead to an infinite amount of outcomes. People cling to binaries and fantasies because this freedom is terrifying to them, but they will feel insulted because the things that people hold on the most emotional basis will always be the things that give them the strongest emotional reactions. The most primitive part of their brain is literally defending against the threat of annihilation of everything that is familiar to them. If we want to escape gendered oppression, we have to kill god.
