my only problem is if ever you get a Hillary in office

2019-01-10 17:04:26 UTC

we're getting rid of Trudeau this year

2019-01-10 17:04:38 UTC

tbh it's a shame southern Saskatchewan didn't join circa Quebec independence referendum. The contiguous US could have been shaped like a giant middle finger flipping off the rest of the world.

2019-01-10 17:04:38 UTC

Well, if Quebec had left in the 90ms, Saskatchewan joining was a real possibility.

2019-01-10 17:04:39 UTC

I wouldn't be so sure about that... vote splitting is a thing.

2019-01-10 17:04:54 UTC

@RMS_Gigantic you must be murican?

2019-01-10 17:05:00 UTC

Alberta is considering it right now

2019-01-10 17:05:10 UTC

I heard that once before, but I want proof

2019-01-10 17:05:18 UTC

What party or referendum item?

2019-01-10 17:05:23 UTC

Give me something to research here

2019-01-10 17:05:24 UTC

If alberta is going to be annexed, I'm going to move to Alberta.

2019-01-10 17:05:26 UTC

look up Alberta seperatism

2019-01-10 17:05:37 UTC

Separatism and annexationism are two different things

2019-01-10 17:05:38 UTC

they need access to tide water for their pipeline..

2019-01-10 17:06:11 UTC

We’ll take Manitoba as well, give us access to the bay.

2019-01-10 17:06:13 UTC

well, on their own they'd be vulnerable. joining the US is an option.. although, I doubt it'll happen unless Trudeau gets re-elected

2019-01-10 17:06:22 UTC

I couldn't give less of a shit about separatism, I'm interested in annexationism, and to that end the Parti 51 political party in Quebec seems to be the only serious, organized, official entity in Canada putting forward a pro-American annexation platform in the entire country.

2019-01-10 17:06:24 UTC

if shit face gets back in, I'd look into it more seriously

2019-01-10 17:06:50 UTC

Also they've been putting out dank-ass images on their Facebook like this one

2019-01-10 17:07:21 UTC

well, I can say this, @RMS_Gigantic - I definitely feel closer to my american neighbours than I used to

2019-01-10 17:07:27 UTC

how do you feel about americans switching to metric though?

2019-01-10 17:07:34 UTC

theres no way we are switching to imperial

2019-01-10 17:07:43 UTC

switching?

2019-01-10 17:07:46 UTC

how old are you, son?

2019-01-10 17:07:50 UTC

Both nations use both systems due to their proximity to each other

2019-01-10 17:08:10 UTC

do constructions sites back east use metric?

2019-01-10 17:08:22 UTC

everyone does.

2019-01-10 17:08:27 UTC

???

2019-01-10 17:08:34 UTC

people still build using imperial here

2019-01-10 17:08:53 UTC

I-19 from Tuscon, AZ to the Mexican border uses Metric

2019-01-10 17:09:00 UTC

and some speed limit signs along the Canadian border

2019-01-10 17:09:36 UTC

the old school guys haven't changed. if you're gonna go on a construction site, you need to know how to do it in feet and inches

2019-01-10 17:09:36 UTC

And for the record, Quebec could continue to use the metric system

2019-01-10 17:10:06 UTC

Even if they adopt US road signage common to the other states, the guide includes metric signage for speed limits

2019-01-10 17:11:19 UTC

though thanks to the American application of federalism, states can maintain their own standards for a LOT of shit

2019-01-10 17:11:33 UTC

I was just saying that imperial is still used in some parts of canada, especially in house construction

2019-01-10 17:11:55 UTC

In fact, Parti 51 essentially advocates for their position as a sort of middle road between independence and federation, with the shortcomings of each addressed via American statehood

2019-01-10 17:12:08 UTC

Yeah, and metric is used in some places down here

2019-01-10 17:12:23 UTC

The Metric system is no less a barrier than language is

2019-01-10 17:12:32 UTC

There are a few parts of my state highways that use Metric
