come to think of it

2017-11-10 01:53:10 UTC

looking r i p p e d

2017-11-10 02:02:25 UTC

protesting is really intense work XD

2017-11-10 09:01:59 UTC

LOL. That is some fucking mental gymnastics right there.

2017-11-10 09:05:52 UTC

I'm kinda disappointed though.
I was expecting per capita shooting and I was ready to dig up my rusty knowledge of local shootings but no.
His report equals that of a 15 year old. A real shame to be honest.
I have seen "genuine" reports on this kind of thing in the past though and they were interesting to read but.. Geez.

2017-11-10 09:14:42 UTC

So mass killings by government bodies don't count or what?

2017-11-10 09:18:09 UTC

You have to go back several decades to a literal world war?

2017-11-10 09:19:10 UTC

I mean you could also reference any random Thursday somewhere in Africa

2017-11-10 09:19:35 UTC

Or many Asian countries

2017-11-10 09:21:07 UTC

Ww2 just seems to be the era-du-jour lately so referencing it is pretty valid

2017-11-10 09:22:40 UTC

And you do not consider this intellectually dishonest?

2017-11-10 09:25:08 UTC

I mean I think I see the disconnect you're inferring.

2017-11-10 09:25:33 UTC

Government firing squads vs rando shooters

2017-11-10 09:26:01 UTC

Is that what you're referring to?

2017-11-10 09:26:28 UTC

That, as well as the fact that it's several decades ago.

2017-11-10 09:26:35 UTC

But I'm glad that you can see the flaw.

2017-11-10 09:27:20 UTC

I'll take being allowed to own guns with the risk of randos any day though

2017-11-10 09:27:22 UTC

With that said though, I do believe in the reports I read about in the past it seems there was more shooting per capita in europe than in america, but I know that some terrorist attacks was factored in, so I don't know exactly how far away it is.

2017-11-10 09:28:02 UTC

I was just was afraid your position on gun violence was so frail you'd have to resort to flawed arguement to strengthen your platform. (Not uncommon mind you)

2017-11-10 09:28:36 UTC

Really? I mean....with Chicago and Detroit I figured we'd be way over Europe

2017-11-10 09:30:16 UTC

I don't know to be honest.
Most of my friends (americans) realise there's a problem with gun violence but can not really come up with a solution which is about right for the situation as a whole.
But then you have the defensive gun owners who needs to justify it to others.

2017-11-10 09:30:42 UTC

In fairness I don't know these defensive gun owners personally I only see them write articles or get butthurt in comment sections of various articles of videos.

2017-11-10 09:31:14 UTC

But I do have some very gun happy people that I play ArmA3 with who doesn't just shrug it all off.

2017-11-10 09:36:32 UTC

The problem is most gun crimes are committed with illegally obtained guns, whether via theft, smuggling, or unlawful manufacture.

The people most affected by laws aimed at criminals end up being the lawful owners. Especially when the proposed legislation is completely inept, ineffectual, and worst of all, written maliciously by people who know nothing about guns

2017-11-10 09:37:29 UTC

What would be root cause of all this crime then?

2017-11-10 09:39:00 UTC

I don't own a gun myself, but to kind of understand their points better you have to think of it in different terms. Imagine if you owned a truck, for example. Legally purchased, you got your license, etc.
Then, following one of these truck attacks, everybody started calling for trucks to be taken away, or restricted, or trying to ban you from buying accessories for your truck (like different tires, rims, hubcaps, lights, etc.). You'd feel pretty wrongly victimized, since you didn't do anything. You followed the law, you did everything right, and now you're being indirectly punished for something somebody else did, legally-obtained truck or not.

2017-11-10 09:42:50 UTC

Thug and gang culture

2017-11-10 09:42:58 UTC

Drugs etc

2017-11-10 09:44:45 UTC

And how have things detoriated to this extend then?

2017-11-10 09:44:47 UTC

Something happened in the 80's and 90's. Thug culture became the default and education was looked down on as "white people shit"

2017-11-10 09:45:09 UTC

My cousin used to teach in New York City

2017-11-10 09:45:39 UTC

The drugs are a problem

2017-11-10 09:45:54 UTC

Mostly the laced stuff

2017-11-10 09:46:50 UTC

She couldn't take it anymore because the kids hated having to go to school, constant arrests, drug possession, several times kids brought guns to school just because they had them and wanted to show off

2017-11-10 09:47:10 UTC

I havent see a workable solution yet and banning guns will make gun owners only criminals

2017-11-10 09:47:43 UTC

There is a demonization of education in those communities

2017-11-10 09:47:54 UTC

On top of poor funding

2017-11-10 09:48:00 UTC

Oh I have an idea

2017-11-10 09:48:40 UTC

What do you say If the wellfare was tied to school atendeance?
