They've been improved since BF1 and 4 though, considering that in those games, planes barely influenced the outcome of a match, and pilots insisted on having their own private war in the skies. In BF5, planes can really fuck shit up for the entire team, like being able to kill the entire team at their spawn point.
Okay but this does actually look good, and distinctly WW2, instead of some crazy steampunk alternate universe WW2.
