TFT was the cheaper tech I believe

At the time TFT were more expensive

because CRT had little to no electronics

And they were new

But long term it was destined to be cheaper

They fixed some Problems at the cost of other

just because of the lack of things like copper

I still have an old ass Samsung gaming widescreen that has a 2MS

i even went through the trouble of replacing the power supply when it burnt out

If you're in the US you can just order a PSU

and it wasnt the EXACT model, so I had to cut part of the steel frame to make it fit

the PSU for that burned for no reason sadly.

I loved that screen, was my favorite

Sadly I was so dumb to get a 32" 4K VA screen (LG 32UK550-B), wich is just awful

ordering a 10+ year old PSU would be more expensive than buying a new one at this point

but luckly I got a Samsung C32HG70 this month

the sad thing: Could have gotten it for 70€ less if I waited a couple of days

trinitron crts are good but in the end panels have way better image quality

and they consume less power now

early backlights perhaps not, but now for sure

a 1k panel would pretty much smash any crt

If it doesn't break, it will survive multiple rigs.

For example, if you were one of the rich/insane ones to get a 30" Dell screen with 2560x1600, you'd probably be using it today!
