Not including the 10,000 hkd I spent getting a special MRI in Hong Kong
The surgery and related expenses was about 30,000 RMB
I got the same thing in the US but was billed the same
in USD
But I have international insurance , so they will cover . Even the HK MRI
Yeah, it's pretty cheap here
had insurance so only $6,600 out of pocket
Out of pocket I have to pay my travel and stay to Hong Kong, so maybe 2000 RMB
Maybe more
But if I wasn't a giant, I could have done it all here
But my leg still hurts, so I'm not sure if it even worked yet
huh
discetomy and you still feel pain?
also fun fact that docs didn't tell me, or maybe it's just my weak ass frame
I can't carry anything heavier than 25lbs without feeling it. if it's 50lbs or so, then for sure it's all fucked up again
You should have anything nerve irritation cleared after surgery for sure though
They ended up not cutting the spine part for some reason
Just "nerve decompression"
I believe I had about half my spinal disc removed
Hmm so you feel it when you carry heavy stuff?
Yeah that's what I wanted but they said I'm too young
And they said the main cause is my mild scoliosis
oh that's something entirely different
Yeah but scoliosis surgery is way more invasive and expensive, didn't want to consider that . But I'm a pretty big guy, so maybe if I lose weight there would be less pressure on the nerve
When I lie down, it feels like my whole body is on that one part of my spine
>for u
chink surgeons (esp those who operate on foreign patients) are really good
that may be so, but the last two times I was in shanghai I had the british international hospital as an emergency contact
I can't think of a bigger nightmare for me then having to have an operation done by a doctor who is not from Ireland, Britain or America
half of britbong doctors are pajeets
I didn't want to be racist and say preferably white
I just don't trust Dr Nigeria or Dr India with their country specific qualification
lel
most of the guys at the britbong int hospital are actually chinks from hong kong
but they speak perfect english and are actually able to understand me
this is in shanghai you said?
yeah
what happened to you in shanghai?
in 2012 my meds got wet and I had to get new ones
I need a specific brand and pharmacies weren't reliable
