Chinklandia has big buildings
Hope they don't fall over
They're all cement I think. Unlike Amerifat where it's all plaster and drywall
I can confirm. I just punched a wall in this apartment and my arm almost broke. In my house back home it would go through the wall
yes all buildings in china are concrete
after "where are you from", the tyhe #1 question im asdked by chinks is "how are buildings made in america"
cardboard and plywood
w-why
不好聽
Haha cardboard and plywood is giving it a better reputation than they are lol. Pretty sure our houses collapse more and they are only one or two stories. Chink buildings almost never collapse and they are like 30-40 at least
klooooooooooooooool
Coommunism will prevail
qi chargers are shit?
I forgot how shit chinklandia is. People shitting on the path in the middle of a national park, people spitting constantly. People taking a piss literally wherever they please. There's no soap. No toilet paper. You can piss in the public toilets. People throw up in crowded areas and other people walk in it. I actually like the city here a bit better which I'm surprised because I figured I'd like the traditional country more
it ain't China if the toilets don't smell like shit and piss
Anyone here used rosetta stone to learn mandarin?
or any language?
I heard rosetta stone doesn't really teach you properly beyond direct english translations
also, since you already know canto, once you get down the differences in vocabulary and grammar, it becomes a lot easier https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-8007deb4907b5ff12fbc7ae6a2f8f264
@plasticsword you won't get any tangible results with rosetta stone
and the time investment it requires is ridiculous when you think about how little it teaches
you have the ability to analytically study as an adult. I suggest you get a proper grammar guide or a textbook
I found the most effective way for me to learn, as someone who's also of chinese background, is to simply listen and look up words you don't know. It goes a very long way.
okay thanks guys
Finally back from Tibetan land. Back in Chengdu. It feels so nice to have soap when you shower
What really sucked is that bathrooms are already shitty so when you finish taking a dump you want to wash your hands right? Well the water smells like sewage so you're better off smearing your own shit on your hands and then eating a sandwich than washing your hands and not eating at all
I probably got lung cancer from the shitty air and radiation poisoning from the water
All in all tho for as much as I complain about the shitty chink hygeine I actually do really like it here. It's an amazing country and definitely worth the visit if any of you guys get a chance
I'm going in August, flying in to beijing. Looking forward to it.
For you guys who've been there, what cities/places do you recommend visiting or staying at?
I'm in Chengdu now and the city is great. Very clean and always something to do. Air is meh. Beijing has way worse air tho. I'll be there at the end of the month to fly home
How long have you been in China?
Like maybe 6 days now I think
By air is "meh" does that mean mask-worthy pollution?
why are there so many white people in shenzhen
the air is like standing 1m away from a car exhaust
