in the footage, they're seen on the elevator talking about how the shooter was on the 32nd floor, but they exited the elevator on the 31st floor and stayed there for about 3 minutes before moving back to the elevator

but that's the thing, based off of the sound from the footage they _did_ know what they were walking into

they knew the floor and room number, and i believe there was a part of the video where they mention one of the guns he had
