Nice vid, and nice to hear I'm not the only one who listens to the terrible and down right despicable Michael Knowles xP
I like the show. I try to catch news sources from a broad spectrum of politics
He's actually pretty damn smart. From two small [I don't want to call debates] intellectual 'skirmishes', he actually really impressed me. Maybe if I get a larger sample size I could rate him against Shapiro debating
I've been trying to get him on my show. I think he'd be a good debate on religion
Oh anything in particular about religion?
I took issue with his episode a couple months ago on "Spiritual, but not religious" because that's how I view myself for reasons completely apart from what he listed
I could be wrong but I think that he's starting from the premise that his religion has a coherent structure to it that is backed by an origin. Having a starting point is usually the ground most debaters fight on
I'm a Christian and I haven't come across solid evidence that Catholicism is the only valid path. So Michael and I aren't fully synced there. I was born a protestant and have recently taken an interest in orthodoxy because it sheds a lot of light on a variety of topics
I haven't found any evidence than any major religion is even a partially valid path. I am spiritual, but not religious, because I draw criticism against the religions of man. I've dedicated a lot of my adult life to studying religion, especially Christianity, and I have found that every denomination interprets the word to keep themselves in power
I am Christian, but I choose not to associate with any church
Okay, I understand where you're coming from. I've always been one for the very small time churches
None of that megachurch nonsense
If they're not talking about bible verses we tend to walk out. Because everything else is unnecessary, for us anyway
yeah, not even the small churches get it right
The small methodist church in the small farming community that I live in....the one my ex goes to, is purely a cult
That's a shame
