john wayne movies
except Miyazaki
I don't even watch anime anymore, but it seems to be the only genre unaffected
although there's not a whole lot that's got me interested there at the moment
it's mostly waiting on season 3 of Konosuba and the movie and Boku no Hero Academia
but it depends on taste I guess
Anime still has macho men and sexy girls
most of the stuff I watch these days tends to be Marvel
I still love marvel comics circa 1980-2010
the 90s shit doesn't hold up very well
post Avengers Disassembled?
there's good stuff in Marvel's more recent stuff still
prove it
one book I've really enjoyed the last couple months has been Spider-man Life Story
Nick Spencer?
no he's doing Amazing Spider-man
oh
which has been okay
more grounded than Slott's run
i heard it was good, its not hard to be better than slott
now he's on Iron Man and I'm fine with that, let him I have no real stakes in Iron Man personally
fair assessment
but Life Story is a few writers like Zdarsky who I always like
Richard Meyers dumps on Zdarsky a lot
I only wish it wasn't a short limited run I'd love to see a more prolonged run in that world
then he's an idiot because Zdarsky has been one of the best things Marvel has for a good while now
he's also been writing Immortal Hulk which has been really good
course he dumps on everyone at least a little bit
and I'm not usually a horror fan much less body horror but it has been a really weird and interesting take on Hulk
im not a horrow fan
sort of like how Vision's book was a new take on him
unless its comedic horror
Immortal Hulk is definitely not a comedy
deals a lot with death and resurrection and has a much darker personality for Hulk "Devil Hulk"
damn son
funny now that I think about it, the standouts tend to be new takes on old characters
birb alert
maybe Marvel have just been at it so long there's it just became repetitive
I think people need to stop trying to continue the old characters tbh. Reboot/reinterpret or drop em
