notice the one in quotes
Yeah.
It's a cultural taboo.
I'm breaking the cycle in my family and when it comes up I give my firm opinion on the matter.
That's about all I can do.
(I'm less vociferous in person)
(Still adamant though)
If in your family you're the father, your sons' genetic integrity is not something you should be mocked for caring about.
Oh no question in my family, nobody is coming near any of my children with surgical scalpels unless there's a damn good reason.
The sickest part of the whole debate is that there are a lot of mothers who openly say they want their sons penis to look like their own personal preference for penis
That sounds absurd, but it isn't
I mean, that people think that way
Like I said, it is fundamentally weird to me.
But I remember a time when I didn't think it was weird because "that's just the way it is"
Which is why I really try not to get mad about it.
Sometimes I fail. But I try.
I just think back to the births of my son and daughter and I can't even imagine thinking "you know what this perfect scene of peaceful postpartum mother-infant bonding needs? A LITTLE GENITAL CUTTING AMIRITE?"
I believe this is the one I meant
Yeah that is just reminding me that I was also not breastfed...
My mom thought her milk supply wasn't adequate or something. So I got put on formula and rice cereal at 10 days.
I wonder if I would have been taller
Probably would have better teeth too
Oh well.
"Yeah, well I'm taller" - Neo
wait, that was from Speed?
If I was breastfed maybe I'd get the movie right
I don't remember it from the Matrix lol
It was Speed, I was kidding
Haha ok. I haven't seen Speed since the 90s
The Matrix though... I was all about that movie in like 2002-2004
But jokes aside, there are a lot of factors I fear we ignore
All we can do is better for our children the best we can
My kids are happy and healthy as little horses so far (fingers crossed) so hopefully I'm doing OK
My mother was pretty anti-vaccine when I was growing up.
In fact, she was Miss Anti-Vaccine 1992
She couldn't attend the awards ceremony cause my brother and I both got the measles
I joke
Haha
That would be funny as hell as long as you both came through it OK though
