I just find it amusing that he can't befriend me because I oppose his views (which speaks to his character). I then tell him that if I was forced to side with one or the other it would be the Proud Boys. However, I followed that up that whoever initiates calls to violence should be criticized for their actions and Antifa has a poor track record, especially after this Rally incident.

I also find it annoying that he says that because I'm young he insinuates that I'm incapable of forming critical thought, and believes that because I'm basing my decisions off of video evidence taken from different sources online it doesn't count. I have to be there in person; which I'm not about to take time off from work to join that cess-shit pool.

That's another good point: I don't really want to associate with either group but it becomes and easy choice if I'm given an ultimatum (far-lefties seem to like those)

One group is unapologetically American and the other thinks America is evil and must be destroyed. That's not really a hard choice

I mentioned issues regarding Antifa; attacking or provoking the police; flying high signs of Transgender Communism flag; graffiting the walls wanting open borders, ridding ICE, fuck the Proud Boys; etc.

And he completely dodged all of my statement to go against, and just says that up above.

I find myself getting pushed further and further right on various issues as I get exposed to extreme lefties making ultimatums about who you support.

I think Tim was saying something about that, and how left leaning, and moderates are being pushed right because they're all labeled as nationalists, or w/e the fuck if they're not part of the extreme left.

I'm experiencing that personally. I try to be aware of it and avoid the worst excesses, but when you keep getting crammed into a box you tend to start fitting its shape.

I don't know how accurate this graph is but if it's indicative of our current political climate, and the polarization largely caused by said factions and mainstream media there is a significant issue:

Fair. I've only been on this server for so long. That would be nice.

Antifa and their supporters are angry that the police protect opposing groups that are demonstrating peacefully from their use of violence to stop them. I've seen it first hand, multiple times. I even saw them get angry at medics that came in to treat an older man and woman they mobbed up on, beat, and pepper sprayed.

They seem to think the police should only protect them if someone goes after them, and leave them to it if they decide to attack people. They want to be the arbiters of who may and may not be in their city, and act like it's some horrible betrayal if police / paramedics / whoever interfere when they're enforcing that.
