just trying to apease our future robo overlord, trying to appeal to their sense of humor really

2019-09-17 00:27:11 UTC

I'm afraid my atheistic vibes that transfer unintentionally into my kid would cause some conflict with the other kids if I did the church group thing lol

2019-09-17 00:28:03 UTC

I mean

2019-09-17 00:28:26 UTC

I read that wrong.

2019-09-17 00:28:27 UTC

knowing atheists who aren't meme level would do church kids good

2019-09-17 00:28:37 UTC

I thought you said 'autistic vibes.'

2019-09-17 00:28:41 UTC

lol

2019-09-17 00:33:39 UTC

like making your kid an outsider or "the weird kid" within the group because of those vibes?

2019-09-17 00:51:26 UTC

people who get homeschooled and then are thrust into the real world aren't the best adjusted

2019-09-17 00:53:09 UTC

unlike children who have to deal with being in public school, homeschoolers end up being a little less adjusted than those who go to school. you can even see that in private school kids

2019-09-17 00:55:21 UTC

especially private school kids who go to a religious centered schools (not including colleges)

2019-09-17 01:03:39 UTC

yes and no

2019-09-17 01:04:16 UTC

that's broadly true but that has so not been the case with so many people I know it's not really a fair statement

2019-09-17 01:04:24 UTC

You can bring homeschooled kids to public schools for recess/lunch/PE/etc

2019-09-17 01:04:33 UTC

It's been a thing for ages

2019-09-17 01:04:45 UTC

or get them involved in sports

2019-09-17 01:04:58 UTC

or other extracarricular activities

2019-09-17 01:05:08 UTC

Or even just specific classes youre not confident teaching at home

2019-09-17 01:05:46 UTC

even then, you cant ever really subject them to the same problems and such that they would face in a public school. the social aspect is a very unique thing

2019-09-17 01:06:13 UTC

if you grow up your children correctly then public school shouldnt be a problem

2019-09-17 01:06:22 UTC

umm wat

2019-09-17 01:07:24 UTC

Wot

2019-09-17 01:07:54 UTC

the thing is public school is where your kids will spend soooooo much of their time that on some level they are no longer your kids

2019-09-17 01:08:10 UTC

that's certainly the view of most of the people who run public schools

2019-09-17 01:08:49 UTC

if you make time for your kids and sit and spend time with them then they will continue to be your children

2019-09-17 01:09:59 UTC

what time? School eats most if not all of your kid's time.

2019-09-17 01:10:30 UTC

Public schooling has a tendency to hinder your kid's creative and autonomous development in favour of making them good at mostly useless systematized skills like test-taking

2019-09-17 01:10:50 UTC

you can talk with them but the idea you're going to inoculate them with dinner conversations is wishful thinking

2019-09-17 01:11:13 UTC

modern public education is alot more about conditioning than learning

2019-09-17 01:12:27 UTC

public education guarantees the state will have far longer to mold your children than you will

2019-09-17 01:14:15 UTC

thats what i hate about modern day "what time" to spend with the kid? after you get home... the problem with a lot of families today is that dad or mom come home and because theyre so tired from where ever they work they decide that they dont have time to sit down and spend with their child. It starts early and its especially prevalent with dads in the american house hold. men will come home and will sit down, eat dinner and go to sleep leaving room in there for tv and such.

2019-09-17 01:14:22 UTC

you want to make dad great again

2019-09-17 01:14:40 UTC

spend time with your children

2019-09-17 01:14:52 UTC

you want to make the family unit great again

2019-09-17 01:14:59 UTC

sure but a dinner conversation ain't changing 8 hours of school plus 3 hours of homework reinforcing it

2019-09-17 01:15:00 UTC

spend time with your children

2019-09-17 01:15:47 UTC

Youre competing against a full day of indoctrination with whatever energy you have after an 8 hour work day, curbed by their homework and study schedule

2019-09-17 01:15:54 UTC

^^^^^^

2019-09-17 01:16:41 UTC

But even refusing to try isn’t helping either

2019-09-17 01:16:57 UTC

It's not refusing to try to look at alternatives to public schooling
