For me, that's totally under "misuse of technology and illegal practices in big tech orgs", which i still maintain that tech censorship is not political or partisan per se

but still, what interest would the CIA have in exposing illegal data collection in the NSA

Nothing is beyond political to some. And I dont think they would have an interest in it. I think the leak is real and the CIA lied to the American public. I *know* some people still consider Snowden to be a traitor, especially after he ended up in Russia

Well, the Russia smear to me is almost always used for the purpose of foreign policy interests of the US State interest and Israel and more broadly the NATO policy
