The APA (psychiatry) is the one that does the DSM and puts forward a lot of medical standards.

The APA (Psychology) is still good but compared to other nations is a lot less developed and the literature is more out dated.

With the APA (Psychology) definitions they are correct as Female/Male are associated with sex, but they wrongfully restrict it to that as most views don't marry gender to sex.
