yeah tbh projectors just seems like an ass to deal with
escpecially the fucking lamps who keeps getting ruined
Well that's why I think the LED ones could be a worthy gamble
bulb ones are too finicky
They're pretty great in certain circumstances, to be honest.
I was tempted years ago to try out projectors, but the space needed for proper setup is beyond what I have. Spending so much on something I can't use efficiently is pointless.
Many a nights spent at parties playing rockband on like 10ft projected screens.
They didn't even have a screen, they just hung a white shoot in the wall to cover up the wood trim.
@Valkrys Yeah, if you've git the space and the light control, it's dope af. But not everyone has that, unfortunately.
Well, at night it's dark.
Yeah, but a TV you can only "use" at night would kind of suck, no? Defeats half the money you spent on it.
It was a party house with a living room that had nothing but two couches in it. So the projector just got set up on one side, and projected onto the wall across the room.
Well, that's why you get them for cheap. You can also get blinds and curtains.
Like, my bedroom. Is barely lit during the day in the summer.
Yeah. Not shitting on them completely or anything. It has it's uses, definitely.
South facing window.
I just live in a small shitty Apt with no free wall space. I have a decent amount of crap, so all the space is used up, pretty much.
Useless in my living scenario, in other words.
Though maybe a mini projector could be used...
Plus, depending on make and model, latency could be an annoyance for "purists" out there.
There's those nano projector things.
Laser based.
@kontroll Yeah, probably pretty good for small sized screens.
I've heard those are getting better.
Fuck if I know. Saw some British guy try one out on YT.
Looked decent.
Supposedly no focusing issues either.
Seems nice.
Don't expect massive sized screens with crystal clear image with a nano though, obviously.
It's at least not total shit like they first started out as, though.
If only they'd come down in price though.
Unless I'm misremembering, Sony wanted £400 for an ultimately "meh" unit.
I saw a recent techmoan video where he was showing off his. Basically amounted decent enough picture, but not bright enough for "day" viewing. Can't cheat physics, after all.
Oh yeah, that's the guy.
👍
Woohoo should have one package arriving Monday😊😊
Blushing? Are you getting a box of dildos?
Maybe
😊
Maybe not
