on that church stuff im not really sure
even tho its forced on many people it still helps fuck ton of people by food-aid and such
and the food-aid lines are growing longer and longer each year
that is quite sad sight to see
also those who get the money need to report to Goverment where and how every single cent was used
ammount of checked corporations is around 800 per year
Should welfare, social work, food aid, housing really be left to undemocratic NGO's instead of state and municipalities? I simply think that would the money, which is essentially like tax money, be used by public sector, instead of third sector, it would be spent better.
they are under state good sir
ray is just way of sharing the control smaller autonomoys patches
giving what ? 250 million euros around the place where largest yearly donation to single entity (y-säätiö in this case what gives housing and "first aid" to homeless and thrown out people) is mere 5 million or so
imagine the workhours at "large house" when they would be required to vote about that shit
these NGO's are private organizations, they might report how they spend their money to the state, but that does not make them "under state"
somethings are just easier to solve when made in to corporate enviroment
well yes they are not under state.. if their tax or other stuff fails they dont get single penny
so they really do have incentive to spend it to good
and not just on their own "salaries"
its under pretty big microscope
some organizations have denied the money
just cause how much work it causes for them
and rays money are nothing like "tax" money
and rest goes to charity like that
and every single organization can get it if they aply for it
sure it would be fun to watch if state just whipped couple billion euros and shared them to org
and did the "out of thin air" money magic every time
well sure, you might have convinced me that the money goes to "good use", but I still dont get why they need to be private charities, instead of state and municipalities. We have welfare state where the state provides housing, welfare, medical help and social work, would it not simply be more efficient to do everything under the welfare state, instead of splitting it to smaller charities?
world just does not sadly work like that
Alko, which is another monopoly, returns all profit to the state
Ray could simply do the same
im not so sure about this but giving some power to "RAY" to choose private org
might be "legal loophole" for state to support those groups
as state cant directly support private organization by default here
(i might be wrong on that one i need to check it)
Alko is dying business model anyway
if you want boring night read https://cms.veikkaus.fi/site/binaries/content/assets/dokumentit/vuosikertomus/ray/ray_vastuu_vuosiraportti_2016.pdf theres the yearly report (it actualy was quite hidden)
its long read so yeah
32th page startes the interesting stuff
also doing everything undert welfare state is quite bad thing
moneywise at least
small organizations dont require nearly as much money as "trained professionals at offices"
and equality wise more organizations = more people to decide how the money is to be spent == less chance for corruption ?
